Our Last 10 Transfer Windows

Mendoza

NSC's Most Stalked
From memory, this is what I worked out our last 10 transfer windows dealing for money. This excludes free transfers and loan signings. This includes the summer and January windows. Not sure if I've missed anyone out

Quite interesting - although, im not clear on the ACTUAL amounts for Kazim-Richards and Thomson coming to us.

Outs £4,360,000
Ins £ 866,000

Profit £3,494,000

This goes shows how much money gets put into the Falmer "black hole" as im sure with near enough £3.5million we could have created a better squad over the years, expecially in the Championship years

I think the Argus would say we paid significantly less for CKR...! They tend to quote £55k... though extra went to them after appearances and sell ons i believe...

Surely CKR didn't really cost us anything

You forgot some minor 'IN's.

Elder [£10k] and Revell [£8K], for example.

I guess Turienzo, Carole and Frutos would count, as the 'transfer fees' were paid to the agents. Didn't we spend something like £300k+ on the three of them, we were 4th(?) highest spenders in the football league, on agents, that season.

According to the Soccer Internet Database we got 200k for Henderson.

7 appearances for Preston show he was obviously worth it and too good for us.

I guess we can add paying out about another £400,000 for Turienzo, Noel-Williams, Carole, Leon Knight, Revell, Elder and Frutos

Coming in another, £500,000 for Harding and Kazim-Richards, which would take the profits over the £4million barrier

Good use of stats, and essentially in my eyes what this picture of fiscal ability shows me is that if we hadn't had the considerable drag factor of Withdean hanging over us that we would would have turned over a significant operating profit in that timescale.

Which, if alot of our fans took their heads out of their considerably sized posteriors, people would know from listening to the admiration that DK gets nationally for his ability to run a tight ship.

All of the sales/buys are good value though I think, maybe a bit cheap sale of Hendo but I've hardly seen him since, and considering we did basically get CKR for free. And I hope no one comes on here saying we should spend more seeing as we got all that money in - because they should no we can't

I heard a rumour that Henderson has a serious injury and there are doubts of him ever recovering

My PNE mate says he is still out with a back injury.

It was the lack of investment in June 2006 and January 2007 that has got to the point where crowds are below 5,000. No players bought in five of the last nine windows. Lets hope those days are in the past.
