Our game - 2 much long ball

Did anyone else think we played better when we rolled it from the back? We play too much long ball, and didn't really get anywhere with it.

Towards the end, we started playing some nice football from the back. We kept posession and saw some nice ball work. Leon Knight was definatley my man of the match, and was the difference between the two teams. And my fav player, Cullip, also had a great game! Roberts has to be our number 1 goalkeeper now. You can tell he has played at a higher level, and knows when to come out, etc.

I agree. We play a much better game when passing instead of hoofing it up front.

Teams that have height advantage are always going to get possession of the ball when we do that.

It took us a bit of time to settle down last night but once we did, then as you said we played some nice football.

Now now girls. Don't think you can start a thread talking about football strategy and tactics. What the boys really want to know is "Who has the biggest willy - and what sort of end does it have?"

I am so sorry Lush, we let our intelligence show there for a minute.

It won't happen again I promise

Do you know what? You're not far off the mark with that statement.
:lolol:

I know plenty of girls who know loads about footy, some more than me, just because they have breasts it doesn't mean they know sod all about football! Except for my ex, who was a Palace fan

I hate the way guys think we don't know anything and then when you say something they can't believe it.

To be fair though, judging by some of your comments on here recently u still have a lot to learn.

Back on topic (before this turns into a flame war between ladies and gentlemen), yes BB I agree, playing from the back is much better...when tried to hoof it to that useless tart Henderson too much and it simply did'nt work, apart from the 2nd goal that is!

I also thought roberts had a great game and does indeed show his experience as you said.

We played a lot of long ball which was never going to work against their defence but QPR were looking to hoof it to that donkey Furlong, every single time they got the ball.

The long ball was implemented to exploit Knight's pace and also for the knock downs from Henderson. To be fair it didn't work but at least it shows we are not one dimensional, if we play the same game every week we will soon be found out a la England.

Obviously BrightonBird knows better than Coppell though:rolleyes:

Spot on BB, Leon Knight Knight Knight needs a support man big time. Henderson's got the right build but a touch like a complete dirty kiddy fiddler. He never quite got the hang of holding it up for us (although I thought he did try to do the right things at least....).

But in all fairness when the long ball got over Shittu (wide in the corners), they had all kinds of trouble keeping up with Knight. So I thought it did work occasionally. BUT I do agree with you that we did it a bit too much, knight has got the skillz with the ball at his feet. Very promising this year, we're gonna destroy div 2!

Please note that my opinon still hasn't changed regarding the FACT that girls can't head a football or throw.

I think we used the long ball more in the 1st, 2nd half we still used it but also tried to use Jones and Harty more on the flanks.

Dont forget a long ball by Cullip got us the 2nd goal
