I seem to remember the injury came just as there was a lot of talk about a big money move to Ipswich being lined up? Before the injury he was a class centre back.

I can remember when Codnor signed for us Barry Fry stated that he would play for England one day!

Nasty injury. I always thought the central pairing of Bissett and McCarthy was a perfect match.

Odd how people can see things so differently. I watched the Wigan game with a bloke who had Bissett as his least favourite player of the last 15 years (he wavered on Peter Smith for a moment, but stuck to his guns).

I don't think he ever saw Richard Tiltman though!!!!

Very harsh that. Bissett could look a bit clumsy due to his height, and he wasn't the quickest. But he tidied up well and was good in the air, I always felt very confident when he was in the team.

Never said I agreed with him.

I've personally got nothing against tall, gawky, clumsy looking players who work their sock off. Look at my choice of handle for heaven's sake!!!

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I seem to remember Nicky Bissett saying he was late for training once during his rehab becase he was stopped on his bike at Shoreham by protesters for wearing sheepskin gloves.

Can I ask where you saw the tackle, Great Cornholio?

I was always a Bissett fan, myself. However, my lasting memory of him is being interviewed on an end of season video, when, in a way that only footballers can, he stated that: "We reverted to five at the back, which we'd never played before". Unfair, I know, but I don't suppose we bought him for his brains. That was Codner........tee hee.
