So I'm thinking of trying this out in an attempt stop impulse buying and forgetting stuff. However, I have heard stories of them bringing you stuff with very short expiry dates. Is this true? Does anyone else use this service?

gave up, i found the companies expensive. I had a lot of veg etc I had no use for. You find that you react to the food they give you, instead of planning your food around your requirements. Once I got an organic unwaxed lemon, that cost me £1.50.

The local market does me 10 lemons for a pound?

I would love to eat organic food. But we use our local market about the quarter of the price of the supermarket, generally fresher, and if you look closely and develop a relationship, with the stall holders, we can get organic for quality prices.

I mean from SUPERMARKETS.

you didn't say that!

We use a few, Waitrose Ocado service is very good. I think its now down to the half a hour slot.

Tesco web site, also records your tesco card purchases, so you can focus your order around your normal buys. The only downside is the veg, frsh but comes in the more expensive enclosed bags than loose.

We get all the heavy bulky stuff delivered, carton juices, milk, cat litter.

To avoid forgetting or impulse buying, keep the receipt from your big shop and use it as a shopping list next time you shop. In and out, consistency in food, no overspending and mission complete.

Ocado eh?

Nibble - I am SHIT at shopping, like REALLY shit.

One downside of online shopping is that I find it actually easier to buy more than you need. As you can't see a full basket in front of you, it is very easy to buy more - and it's all just a click away.

Yeah but if you do it at home you can just go check the cupboard, no?

Possibly, I stopped using Tescos online cos I was ordering more than I would normally buy. Down to the individual really s'pose - presonaly I like to see how much is in my trolley, plus I'd prefer to pick meats, veg etc. myself.

Nah, it's simple. Write a list and buy ONLY whats on the list. We use Tescos and Sainsburys online and spend roughly £80 a week. Last weekend we didn't do an online shop and went to ASDA. Ended up spending £123.
