18 Points is ridiculous in this instance.

I am, however, a little bit disturbed that I am sitting here typing this on a Friday night in nothing but a pair of oversized AFC Wimbledon shorts.

I can see them being kept in that league for another season, as they are a big fish in a small pond and other teams attendances rise when they play so its good for the ryman league for them to stay there.

If they broke the rules the should be punished, and if any club (no matter what divsion) should get exacually the same amount of punisment, being how many points won with that player playing if thats the the punisment that is going to be dished out should be the same for every club.

On a side note, if AFCW where to keep going up the leagues, how far would they be allowed up whilst they are currenlty playing at kingstonian's ground, and is there any plans for them to own there own ground?

I concur with clay.

If they let it slip im sure more "mistakes would be made"

Just because they are smaller than west ham does not mean they should get away with the same sort of thing.

This is the interesting thing - what punishment will West Ham get for fielding ineligible players and (most damningly) misleading the FA in the first place about the players eligibility?

AFC Wimbledon did make an error (arrogant? how?), but West Ham deliberatley mislead the FA. Lied even. Committed fraud perhaps. Surely we should be seing relegation (which will happen anyway) and a massive points deduction next season. Surely?

Or maybe not, eh? One rule for the big clubs, another for the smaller ones.

I thought they did own it? They bought it, and Kingstonian rent at a reduced rate. (that's what I've been told anyway).

I would like to see West Hams punishment to have some effect on them - so a points deduction would be the best way to do this as they are already down.

Not sure it is one rule for the bigger clubs as Bury have been kicked out the FA cup this year.

Also could you not argue that AFC are a big club in the league they are in?

The FA are in a trricky situation with this, if they give a weak punishment to AFC how many more clubs will forget to do things when transfering players? Im not suggesting for one moment here that AFCs case is anything more than a mistake.
