its sad that 20 years on from the original technology, a journalist asked such a hatstand question. its not that complicated to understand how the internet and WWW work, and i'd expect any journo at launch related to the internet to have some basic technical understanding.

Was anyone speculating that the Egyptian government had found a kill switch for the internet? They found a way to greatly limit it in one country by f***ing with some core routers inside the country, and to be honest it was a pretty smart move. Of course it assumes you can gain control of a very specific chunk of very, very well protected hardware, so it's tricky for anyone who's not a government really.

Quite, I'm all for a good conspiracy theory but this one isn't even close to having legs. Although I'm sure [MENTION=2850]brunswick[/MENTION] will still have something to say on the matter.

I would be surprised if he didn't integrate a private backdoor at some point that he could use, tell you what lets all put 'Joshua' into google at the same time and see what happens

Also if you want an interesting, technically feasible computer conspiracy look the concept of the Thompson Hack. It's just a thought experiment really but it could exist, and disproving its existence is very, very tricky. Warning though, it's a very technical concept.
