BHAFC gold football medal 1908 Brighton & Hove Albion ?

this is a listing on ebay and it appears to be for some minor cup we might have won 1907/08.it could be for a reserve trophy.
i wanted it myself but it is gonna be expensive even for 9 carat gold.

The seller seems a bit doubtful to it's origin, but I would have thought the inscription on the back tells the full story...?

lt def has the right initials but the competition seems a bit vague.we were southern league at the time but his description is

BHAFC

W.T.F. was the C.L & CUP ,the L could stand for league,its the and cup bit i dont get.

but if you have money to burn it is a nice piece

I'm not sure what it is - but I am sure what it isn't, and that's an Albion medal.

Firstly, Albion did not win anything in 1907-08, let alone "C.L & Cup" (actually, having had a good look, I'm not entirely convinced that is a "&", but I think it probably is). That covers first team and reserves - that's all there was in 1908.

Secondly, I would expect a medal of that age to have "BAHAFC" or "B&HAFC" rather than "BHAFC". I know we supporters tend to use the initials without the "and", but I doubt that a medal organiser - a competition organiser or even the club itself - would do so in 1908.

It's a bit odd that there's no identifying decoration of any sort on the front, but perhaps that's just the way it is.

What I suspect this is is a medal for another "BHAFC". The best I can come up with is Brierley Hill Alliance, who were competing in the Birmingham & District League in 1907-08, but I can't relate the "CL & Cup" to anything.

But the gist is that I really do not believe it is an Albion medal. To be fair to the seller, he has warned against it.
