I’m not sure about Dahoud, at all. Need an enforcer in there alongside BG.
I know new players need time but other than some tidy passing Dahoud looks pretty useless. Nowhere near enough work off the ball or helping out defensively. Like someone said, looks like another Davey Propper.

We were a rabbit caught in the headlights for the first 35 minutes. If we’d have got one back before half time I think we’d have won it.
Still, glad to get the point in the end. Lamptey was excellent. Back to his best. MOTM.
Second half the gaps opened up and we looked so much better.
The open spaces certainly suit Joao Pedro.

On Sunday we need to start a whole lot quicker.

If we can keep in the game, through the first half , we can beat anyone in the second. I think it is just no team can play the low block all game . Their players clearly dropped off second, leaving space for Pedro etc that Welbeck and Fati just never had first half.
The real positive for me was that Lamptey is a more than adequate replacement for Pervis.
But Dahoud should not be a starter at the minute. Need more steel in the middle, or at least Billy who was prepared to show for the ball all the time

Some terrible play from Brighton first half with Dunk looking completely out of sorts followed by a really good second half, great worked.goal put away by Grob and ice cool Pedro with the penalty our first point on our European tour

Hopefully this settles our nerves moving forward great to have Grob back

Lol imagine the pelters if Dahoud had started the Villa game

I’m not in agreement with those who are complaining about us “not turning up” in the first half.

We put out what we thought was the right formation and tactics, as did the opposition. We can make minor changes mid-match, but to make significant alterations requires everyone together in the dressing room.

If, as a group, we have the opportunity to spend more time together, we’ll start getting our starting tactics right more often than not, but we have lost our central midfield, and we’re currently fashioning a new one, which in turn creates uncertainty for all our players.

We were better in the second half, but we were still there and fighting in the first. We have to give the team time to adjust. So proud of our players tonight. I hope everyone who’s got out there to support them has a fantastic night too.

Great turn around, if only we'd nicked one before half time I think we'd have gone on to win it.

We clearly are struggling in midfield at the minute, I wonder if it's worth trying to play 3 centre mids in a 3-5-2. Need some more presence.

Shout outs to Veltman and Lamptey, the two MOTM for me.

What a terrific game of football, of 2 halves as they say. Very pleased and proud of the boys tonight. Still surreal watching us in the Olympic stadium booing continental theatricals trying to waste time!

This - Brighton were off the pace 1st half, just seemed slower to the ball than Marseille players until the last 10mins of 1st half and really should have at least scored one goal. Second half we played much much better and looked threatening even before we scored. Let's hope Gross plays on Sunday like he played 2nd half.
