It will be interesting to see the pricing, I would think that traditionally loads of the events are free.

Marathon, walking race, triathlon, cylce road race (goes to box hill) /timetrials, sailing.

Will they then charge for events held within any controlled zone, like the mountain biking, Archery, Rowing.

Is the Equestrian at Hickstead, and was there talk about the Beach volleyball being at horse guards parade.

I would think a range of prices will be avalible for the bigger stadia events depending on seats. Will they be selling tickets themselves or using an agent like ticketmaster.

From Wiki:

(After softball and baseball were dropped)the IOC held a vote on whether or not to replace them. The sports considered were karate, squash, golf, roller sports, and rugby sevens. Karate and squash were the two final nominees, but neither received enough votes to reach the required two-thirds majority. The IOC has given the approval for the addition of golf and rugby sevens for the 2016 games.

Murad Qureshi, a member of the London Assembly, is pushing for a Twenty20 cricket showcase tournament to be included in London.[69] Twenty20 cricket did originally bid for inclusion in 2012, but was not one of the finalist sports.[70] Netball is being drafted as a possible demonstration sport at the 2012 games

There has been speculation that the London Sevens tournament held at Twickenham as part of the IRB Sevens World Series could be put back to coincide with the Olympics.

That's what I had heard.

I don't think sports can just be introduced at this late stage, I was sure Rugby 7's will be first played in the 2016 olympics.

What's going on with the GB football team? Last I heard they were just going to use English players, is this true?

I've never paid to watch an athletics meeting in my life despite there being plenty held in the UK, why would I start now?

.
Presumably because the cream of world talent would be in attendance? Unlike, say, the Commonwealth games or any bog standard meet.

In fairness, watching top athletes is quite astonishing sometimes. You watch the leaders of the London Marathon bounding over Tower Bridge (half way) and they are running at a pace I couldn't live with for more than a couple of miles; and I'm a half decent runner when fit!

thanks for that, the question wasn't actually 'who is going to see the athletics and how much will you pay?'.....you may be interested in another sport???

and as Simster said it will be the greatest athletes on the planet performing at hopefully a wonderful stadium in our own country! I find it incredible how someone can run 10 metres a second easily so would love to see this in the flesh
