And the most disgusting pie I have ever eaten. Meat and potato. Gristle and watery mash served in a small cardboard box more like.

That was a crazy day. West coast line was closed so took about 5 trains each way. And I struggled around on the ice and snow on crutches after a knee op. Why? Why did I do that? That 0-0 (2007?) was bloody freezing. The one where FDM went mad at the end. It was our last game before moving abroad for some warmth for a while !
A pitch invasion just because they hate the owners and are second from bottom in the table. Shame on them
Oxford
Although it wasn’t the Prem league it was Div 1 in those days

That’s not a Northern thing though. I’ve always had mushy peas with fish and chips even when I was a suverner. Chips and gravy at Hartlepool is a whole different ball game.
remember our minibus getting smashed up back in the 70s
I have never seen mushy peas in a Sussex Fish & Chip shop in my life
where was this?
Went there for the first game of the season in 2003. We won 3-1 and it was absolutely scorching hot !
Which Oldhamesque ground did I go 30+ years ago.
All I remember is the back of an incongruous white building (supermarket? ) hanging over the end off to our right.
Any help?
Sounds like Burnden Park, Bolton to me
