The big question is whether there are really 95,000 morons who would pay £50 to see Man U run out comfortable victors over the likes of Wigan or Bolton. I fear I know the answer to this question, but it really makes me wonder whether there's a lot of people who wouldn't be better served strolling down the road and seeing a real competitive match of football at Rochdale or Bury.

..or Stockport.

If a few people ventured to see their local team instead of being glory-hunters then Stockport wouldn't be in the trouble they are.

In a perfect world yes, but the fact that our two decent crowds for the season (stockport and man city) were both games when there was a hint of "glory" in the air.
I just think its that us football fans are too fickle these days.

I suppose they know what the ticket demands are and if they can fill it and have a lot of people wanting tickets in the current climate they probably will shift them.

Does anyone know if Barcelona sell out every week?

I read once that when they rebuilt Old Trafford they put in completely over-specified foundations - and that makes it easier for them to build upwards. That may be building-bollocks - but it seemed plausable at the time.

And a great stadium. Of course other stadiums are more aesthetic - they were built from scratch - this is a traditional stadium expanded for the modern age.

So on completion Falmer will be pretty much a fifth the size of the revamped Old Truffle! (as well as a third the size of Arsenal and the new Spurs ground) Now who says our board don't have ambition for us to be competitive in the Premiership one day? :jester:

Flaming, I await thee!

I hope I live to see the day when we have to extend Falmer so that the railway line and the A27 have to run under the stand!
