is that a railway line behind the south stand ? Be interesting to see how they could expand if that's the case.

Already an awesome stadium

Its only because the roofs are so big it has to have them bloody great supports.
Looks pretty nice inside the ground.

I think Old Trafford is a fantastic stadium. It will be UNBELIEVABLE if they take it all the way round.

The stand could go over the railway - Athletico Madrid's Vicente Calderon stadium has a stand that goes over a main road!

I agree. Sure its a little bit all over the shop but i think it gives it character, certainly more than the emirates or wembley.

95K Wow! That will be awesome for an all seater stadium. And it is all based on the original site (well for many years) so already has infrastructure, heritage and will be full every match in the Prem.

The cost is a rough equivalent of four(ish) years worth of the 20,000 extra tickets, not forgetting increased revenue from merchandise/food/advertising etc.

How long is it going to take to pay off our 20,000 'extension'? :(

I think Old Trafford is stunning from the inside, an eye-sore on the outside. It doesn't need to be any bigger, it's too big as it is. They've lost any British identity they had now, and they're just trying to copy Barcelona's oversized dump of a stadium. I'm not impressed in the slightest, if I'm honest. But then, I've always had "fan of a small club" syndrome.

It would be nice to go to Old Trafford when it is expanded and sing to the Manure fans - "You've only come to see the Albion" :)

If Newcastle could expand theirs all the way around it would look pretty special - although apparently they can't due to a metro station / listed buildings behind the other 2 stands.

Or the fact they'll get crowds of 20K in the champ.
