Because it wasn't safe (the clue is in the name), and we didn't need the extra capacity after we were relegated from Division 1
Funny...it only housed 900 and yet it seemed an important addition at the time.
On another matter entirely, why was the West Stand never extended to cover the complete length of that side of the ground?
