Fatboy said on the phone that it was someone new. He was with Safeway and Trigger I think.

At Woking on Wednesday, Geoff Pitcher was bald, and he played left wing.

Probably him.

He played the second half at Crawley too & looked useful. I had to ask who it was.

From the little I've seen of Pitcher he's seems to have a good shot and can cross and pass the ball well. Is this his season to come good?

Looks like the bald bloke was Dan Beck.

Not, I take it, the Defensive Back for the UMass Minutemen.

Nor even the Technical Director of the Monterey Peninsula College Drama Department.

Maybe he's a famous photographer?

Or the pornographer who owns Hard Core Television inc?

Whatever. How did he play?

Just got back from the game.
Line up at the start was:
FDM;Watson;Mayo;Pethick;Butters;Hart;Jones;Oatway;Rodger;Carpenter;Knight;Mchpee.

First half quite an even game. Barnets best chances came on the break, whenever one of their strickers found themselves one on one with Butters - they skined him. Pethick and Butters looked very dodgy- let lots of balls bounce around the area and looked anything but dominant. On a more positive note, Knight oozed quality. Full of quick turns, not afraid to run with ball and dropped back and linked with the midfield well. Looked class, but I think he needs a big man up front to work with. Unfortunatley he and Mcphee often made the same runs - bit of work to do if they are going to start the season up front.

Just before end of first half, ball breaks to the ginger prince and he hits the ball with the outside of his classy left foot, and the ball flys into the top corner of the net.

Second half, lots of substituations - Hinshelwood came on for Butters and looked a far better bet. If we don't get another centre back I'd play him with Cullip ahead of Butters and Pethick. Marney came on and played on the right and looked promising - put in two or three decent crosses. Pitcher was the bald guy on the left wing - and he didn't strike me as particularly impressive - one decent shot and a couple of chipped passes into space was about it.

Knight scored a tap in which was well deserved, but also clearly offside. Never mind!

Wilkinson came on and he certainly seems to have filled up a bit since last season - did OK.

All in all a comfortable work out against a fairly impressive Barnet side.

Couple of worrying things though - no sign of Ben Roberts - Kuipers played the whole game, and Keeley was on the bench! Also no sign of Piercey

By the way, Barnet had Danny Maddix playing at centre half. Swap deal with Butters (who the Barnet manager said was superb for them last year in the programme!) going the other way would be a superb bit of business Mr Coppell. He looked mighty impressive!
