San Sebastián marathon cancelled, so that’s a full house of 2020 cancellations for me :-(
Will look at Downland Devil. Holding off from Beachy- definitely on my go do list but would rather do it in a proper year.

Getting lots of grief online, I see, but if people don't feel safe/comfortable about it, they don't HAVE to run. I see where they are coming from, but I don't think I'll be able to resist. I'll be interested to see if they try and cap running numbers at the likes of Hove Park and prom. Everyone up to Bevendean!
I can't see when I'm going to get to parkrun, even if my local one starts up again, now that my kids' football club is back in the swing of training.

I think it comes down to the feel of the ride. I'm hoping the Peg 37's will start to come alive a bit but it's not looking good. When I compare them to another of my every day shoes the New Balance 1080v10's they really fall short. The 1080v10's are a fantastic shoe. Can't praise New Balance high enough for a poppy, responsive but comfortable "all rounder" shoe. I'm also a big fan of the lower drop Hoka Rincon's, just a lovely smooth ride for an every day shoe, if only they had put a little more rubber protection on the outsole.
From the shoes I've noticed you run in, I've not noticed any with a React midsole, which is what the Peg 37 features - the Peg Turbo 2s are ZoomX - I wonder if it might be that.
Another thought is that Nike put different-pressured Air Zoom units in the men's and ladies shoe for the first time - 20psi v 10psi. When Seth James DeMoor got hit Peg 37s, he was sent a women's shoe initially and if I recall correctly he preferred this to the men's. Like you, he's a lighter runner so maybe the 20psi airbag has too much pressure to give you the pop you want?
In related news, on Saturday I went out for an easy 6-miler and it was really uuurrrggghhh, to the point I kinda gave up after four miles and just jogged the last two miles home. I wasn't looking forward to Sunday's run, fearing more of the same. I put on the Peg Turbos, not because I was looking to run fast - I wasn't - but because I'd not worn them for a couple of weeks or so.
I just bounded along and midway through mile 6 I realised I wasn't too far away from a 10km PB so I pushed on for the last bit. I came in just short - by 5 seconds - so had I attacked the run from the off, I'd probably have recorded a best time. I'm putting it down to the Turbos!
I'm not sure if they'll keep the Turbo line going though as the upcoming Tempo Next% looks to be the new equivalent.
Indeed - and an absolutely beautiful shoe it looks too.
Unfortunately initial reviews (it's already out in the Far East) are not sounding very positive. I'll still buy them though, obvs.
Greg Bobkin I’m up for the Moyleman. Details in October and Registration January I believe. Give us a shout if you hear anything and I’ll do likewise.
Will do. We'll have to be rapid when the ballot – or whatever it is – opens because those places will go FAST. It's the one race I've been looking forward to. Forget all this virtual stuff and Beachy without all the trimmings, stripped back plodding across the Downs and East Sussex's finest trails is where it's at. Hopefully the world might be *slightly* more back to normal by next March. But I see it's limited to 250 (not sure if it's always been like that), so they know what they're doing...
The delayed Worthing 10k is slated to be run on the 4th October. They are capping entries at 600 and still accepting (I think) applications. I'm a bit surprised as I would have thought that this usually over-subscribed event would have easily 'sold out' to this cap level when it was first advertised for a June slot.. Also I wonder if the tightening of COVID measures, not all of which have been spelled out yet, might have a knock-on effect on this - and other - events.
As I only managed a 49.43 on a 10k practice yesterday this alone makes me question the wisdom of signing up. So it's a bit of a 'watch this space' issue. Hope that the planned roll-out of the Parkruns in not impacted.
You can have my number, I’ll be away.
Oh that could be really good news.
I've checked and they don't allow transfers which means that I'd be running as you and that my time would leave an indelible stain on your record! (Indeed, I could run it deliberately slowly for this very objective.)
Only problem is that my Achilles has flared up and it's not certain that I'll get to the start line. So if you know of anyone else who would be interested they are probably a better bet. But let's be positive...............
In terms of practicalities, I'd either refund you or pay the entry fee directly to a charity of your choice. How should we proceed?
Thanks!
