Up and Coming Sunny Portslade
To further illustrate that, I've just taken nearly a minute off my 5km PB (22:49 before, 21:57 today) when I was just out to stretch my legs properly.

I do feel tempted to try a Park Run for the first time, as the route for this run includes crossing the A27 twice which, at school rush hour, is quite hazardous - and I was quite close to getting knocked down on my second crossing! I imagine when I don't have these obstacles and have the incentive of other runners to chase, I've got at least another 30 seconds in me.

Splits were all over the place a bit at: 7:04 - 6:58 - 7:13 - 7:02,

I wouldn't say those were all over the place, they're really quite consistant (for comparison mine on Saturday were 7.21 - 7.12 - 7.09 - 6.27 but I was running to a plan of sticking with a pacer and then taking off). Yours are more consistant than that, mine are more "negative".

I'd defintely say do a parkrun. Worthing Prom is nice and flat and you'll crush that time with a bit of race adrenaline. Might even beat Garry Nelson's teacher

Bloody Worthing!

Yes - The Worthing prom is ideal, especially when compared with dodging traffic across the A27*. That's a 1 minute saving I reckon,

*I did a bit of this myself today. As a tip to Bozza, I run up to and around the cemetery. There's some nice little slopes, no traffic, wild deer and the residents never complain!

I take in Worthing seafront on my 8, 10 and 13 mile loops, but always West to East. I can't be doing with that ******* wind that's generally blowing the other way, but I see the Park Run markers on the prom.

I don't think the A27 bit will save me a minute, as I generally get over pretty quickly, as was the case today, although with a small scare on the way back!

Finally got over my it injury and managed to get out for a few runs including some cross country and a 19:50 parkrun, can someone update the table to show that I have actually run this year?!

Glad you're back. Need to know where the race/Parkrun was before time goes in the table.

A rising BlueandWhiteSea enters the 2019 fray. Ecpecting a few more updates for him as he gets back to fitness.

Not sure whether a Palace parkrun should really count towards this table! Given your PB, I'm concerned for my placing in the table if you decide to get back on the pace... you been focusing on other distances?

No need to worry about your position, my fast times are all from before children arrived, I don't have the time for that level of training and competition any more, mostly stick to XC

What has happened to 2018 champ Capricorn ? Given up running of too good for us?

Good point. I now notice he's off Strava.

Until recently he was regularly posting outrageous times - there have been many sub-17 parkruns this year, for example. Skipping ahead to the gaffer, he's right - no sign of him any more. Shame really, excellent runner.

Excellent. :lolol: But in all seriousness, welcome back to posting! I had a look at your parkrun history, brilliant tourism. Are you in the Strava group?

Just realised I’ve got fixture congestion. Saturday afternoon 30th November 5m XC Stanmer with 720’ climb and next morning 9m at the Downland Devil about 1,400’. Better head to the hills for my training runs. Looking forward to the challenge.

Did the Downland Devil as a birthday treat a few years ago, it broke me!

Heading to the prom again this morning. Conditions not quite as good as last week (but a moderate NE so some help in the final yards), nursing a bit of a cold and missing my pacer, but still seeing if I can get aroud that 22 something and 64-ish% AG. Quite a bit of speed training on the cards between now and January to get my pace zones up before another thrash at Brighton.
