To be fair I was supposed to do ten of them. I ran out of road and time. I also can’t count when I’m running.

Using the runners world race predictor on last weeks 1:43 Half marathon is interesting. A 4:08:00 marathon.
On a positive note I know I added 2-3 minutes by overdoing it and being knackered at 6 miles on a hilly non SB course. That brings me into a very close sub 4.
On a negative thought, which we won't allow, the predictor does not take into account a body built for speed (?) rather than endurance. This takes me just over 4:00:00

Tomorrow's slow jaunt with some MP thrown in will give me a good idea.

Bloody Worthing!
Skipping Hove Park 600 tomorrow despite wanting to say well done to a man celebrating his 90th Birthday doing the run. Apparently his PB is 14 something achieved 65 years ago. Make sure you give him a cheer Hove.
I’m heading to the Prom for a gentle 25” and will try to join the sea dippers afterwards

Yes - Hugh Foord. BBC did a short feature with him yesterday. One little gem: he runs through injuries and claims (with some conviction) that running slowly through injury is the key to keep on keeping on. Legend!

McMillan calculator turns my 1.49 at Brighton (which I think I could beat if I went tomorrow) in to a 3.49 at 8.45 miiles. That's exactly the pace I'm going to try and stick to (I don't mind giving away my strategy because trying and actually doing it are very different things  ) as recommended by coach.

Did the 8.5 mile taper this morning and hit 8.45s pretty much bang on for 6 miles.

I am on there as an "endurance monster" though. I'm not really sure how each of these calculators work but I'm fairly sure Jan is using McMillan as the 1.49 was "spot on target". I know Dazzer has recommended it as a guide as well.

Based on that you're going to kick my ar$e just so long as you don't set off at 6.45s uphill

Very pleased to report a new 5k pb of 18:30 unofficial in conditions that were perfect in every way. 10 degrees, 3 mph north easterly breeze and a good field of runners which gave me people to aim for throughout.

First Park Run since October but I felt good throughout so the long runs and 4 consecutive Tuesday evenings with a running group have paid dividends.

It was also my 50th Park Run so all in all a good day. knocky1 could you do the honours please?

have posted on this thread a little but not regularly
am looking to step up my running through the summer
in March i have now managed 13 runs and 63 km s,
the last three this week over 5km : today it was 33 mins 49 secs for 5.45k according to my fitbit :
on thursday i ran 6.8km which is the most so far : it is quite hilly here!

in April i am flying in for weekends at Wembley and Wolves
so the running may suffer
but i am looking to add to this slightly every month

in the past it hasnt taken much to dampen my enthusiasm :
so i thought commuicating my goals might help
but i am not sure exactly what they should be yet

a couple of 10kms in the autumn and maybe the Brighton half Marathon next year ??

Took it easy again and paced 28 with Aw20 tomorrow in mind. After hitting 28 dead last week, let myself down with 28:04 this week, must try harder.
Fantastic run by ben Elton’s brother. Also great to see Hugh Foord run on his 90th Birthday - now that is an inspiration.

Entering a few races is the best way to keep motivated. Good luck.

You beat me by a second. 28:05 for me. Bang on sub 4 MP.

19:46 for me today at Hull parkrun. It felt good, nice to go sub 20 for the first time this year.
It seems the longer runs I have been doing for the last few weeks are paying off.

I find the RW race predictor far too pessimistic: all my recent half marathons are in the 1:43 to 1:46 range, but my only marathon (when I didn’t really know what I was doing), which I ran in the middle of that clutch of halves, was 3:51. So I think there’s a lot more individual variability than that formula suggests

I'll do the table this whilst waking up for the AW 20. Finishing guarantees a PB! Hayfever very bad but gets it out the way for BM.

Amazingly 2 5K PBs for big nuts and BenElton'sBrother close for St Leonards Seagull and a new 10K for lost in london.

Brighton half next year as a target is an excellent idea and you have plenty of time to build up gradually. I'd stick at least two 10ks in there beforehand to give you something intermediate to aim for,

Good luck to all the AW20ers today. I've just been out for 9 very easy miles and that northerly is a touch fresh - otherwise should be lovely,

500 miles up for the year yesterday [emoji106][emoji16]

157 miles this month for me and 367 for the year - well on target for a 1000 + year if I stay healthy, which I'll be very pleased with.

In other news, when I checked my Strava stats, I saw I'd run the below segment in St Anne's last week. Made me chuckle no end for some reason.
