Good, glad you are ready to be the strongest link in the weakest link.

Your result is up now. 21:28 for me and an enjoyable last km. a minute down or 5% from pre lay off. expected worse and ready to build up for the Phoenix now.

Still laughing at your analogy of Greg Bobkin deserting Hove Park for the first time. Too bad for me to put on NSC. Menstruation and playing away are the catch words.:lol:
Part of me wished I hadn't bothered. My word that is one booooring 5k.

Still, at least I might live up to the billing at the Weakest Link run #Slow 😂

I'm definitely up for the weakest link run.

Good run out this morning I finished 13th in 19:08 but my result hasn't recorded so I've just sent an email to Park Run hoping they can add me.

Are you still feeling dirty and used Greg Bobkin ? Your first Park Run away from your beloved Hove Park!

Not bad conditions today but the wind coming form the East was a little to brisk for really good times.

A strong comeback run from knocky1 who was involved in a tight tussle at the finishing line.

Let's just say I don't think I'll be wandering far away anytime soon. I'm guessing Worthing will be a similar setup, which doesn't REALLY appeal, to be honest. Unless it's a straight out and back once, I'm not really interested.

Hove Park is the way to go, I tell you.

Whether it is Hove Park, the seafront, Margate or Cardiff, Parkrun is a brilliant concept. This week I struggled on Wednesday's run and had to rest at 2 and a half miles, 3 miles, 3 and a half and stop at 4 miles and walk a mile home. Got to the Prom with trepidation on Saturday fearing that I would not maintain my pace to the finish. Once it started though the 300+ runners around you seem to boost your energy levels and you get into a rhythm and find a group that you join with the aim of picking them off at the end. Great fun. All done by finding runners at around your level of fitness for that particular day.
If dazzer6666 is at PP Saturday I may amble over for a virgin run. not expecting much but he may help me under 21:00 as part of the plan towards this summers eventual sub 20 attempt.

Oh don't get me wrong, I LOVE parkrun, just didn't enjoy yesterday's course. But then it probably takes a bit of getting used two. A Friday bootcamp probably wasn't the best prep either...

I'm finally enjoying my running again after the Brighton marathon.
I did Hastings park run yesterday in a new PB 20:49 so I'm edging closer to sub 20. I actually managed negative splits as well which I think helped.
I'm going to concentrate on shorter runs for the time being trying to speed up in time for a decent attempt at a sub 90 half around September.

Worthing
Hove Park Run is one of the things I really miss now I've moved to Worthing. Used to live 5 minutes walk from it and enjoyed it every Saturday. Looking forward to the Worthing one starting up but it's just Splashpoint westwards for 2.5k and then 2.5k back.

Undid a week's good living and slow running in one night last night. No chance of a run, long or short this morning as could barely focus. Going to attempt a long one tomorrow morning to get back on track. That's if the additional tightness in my poor put upon calves has gone in time. Additional tightness quite possibly caused by scrumming against the "brick wall" central defence of the Brighton REMF team in the middle of the Welly. Oops.

Decided to push myself today in prep for Worthing next week. Wanted to keep sub 40 pace for as long as possible and got to 4.75 miles in 30:51 @ 6:27 pace. Psychologically 4.75 was going back past my flat so should have run out further.

Feel confident sub 40 is on with decent conditions.

Bloody Worthing!
My foot injury is on the mend (fingers crossed) so ventured out for a run today. Managed about 4 miles. Did a couple of hard(ish) sessions on my bike over previous couple of days but still felt unfit. Bike fit and run fit seem to be different things.
Hope to do Worthing 10K but might struggle. Any thought of a sub 43.00 is now not realistic. Sub 45 might be attainable but to be honest I'd just be pleased to get around and not do myself any harm.
I'm sure we've all been there.

Change of plan for me it seems - my meeting has been moved to the seafront - so will probably have a bash at Hove Prom now instead............

New month tomorrow - time to start proper running again. I think I've managed 35 miles this month, which puts my average WAY down for the year...

Are you still on for SDW100 the week after? I will get down the prom to wish you well, if so.

I'm down to 3.8 miles a week average over last month and have lost all motivation. Have to get out tomorrow and get the mileage in again. Enough is enough. Allotment is looking brilliant though.

Just entered the Trailblazer 10k on the 31st July. £13.48 including fees. Sounds like a nice scenic route and keeps me busy over the Summer.

With all the razzmatazz I'm sure you will be low 39 bud as a minimum

Nothing like an easy 10k to kick-start your running. And this was nothing like an easy 10k – up Truleigh Hill, into a strong wind; at least the run down wasn't as bad.

Ah well, it can only get quicker, I guess...

Managed 7 miles last night, 5 at my steady marathon pace. On a coaching course this weekend where I have been promised lots of physical practical work. I hope so because there is no chance of a pure run until Monday at the latest.

I'm finding it slightly harder to get out myself at the moment anyway. Have to focus on the twin goals of 1000 miles for the year and attempting to keep up with knocky1 at Phoenix.

Enter a marathon, then you'll train for it :-D
