Rangers fan here from my time living in New York.

Given they were awful this year and didn’t make the playoffs, I’m not that bothered. But would like to see the Lightning do well because of McDonough, Miller and Girardi.

Could say I’d like to see Nash do well for the Bruins, but hey it’s Boston, so I want them to get pasted only slightly less than the Penguins and Sidney bloody whingebag Crosby.

It will be interesting to see who the Rangers appoint now that they've fired Vigneault - his dismissal was not that much of a surprise after we failed to reach the playoffs.

As a New Yorker I can't really bring myself to support the Penguins or the Devils, so I'll probably back the Capitals

As the grandson of a former Brighton Tiger from Winnipeg, it's Go jets Go for me! Just need them to get that first playoff win out of the way (please) and see how far they can go. If they play how well they've been playing for 90% of the season, they're in with a shout, but this is playoff hockey, so I won't get my hopes up too much...

I don't hold much hope for the Leafs.
Good effort. When talking about the most successful season in recent memory. With at least 4 or 5 of the most exciting young talents in the game. Possibly only an experienced defender or two away from a live cup chance. I am genuinely quite excited.

Had mostly the upper hand head to head v the Bruins this season should account for them in the first round.

We haven't won the SC since 1966. I fully expect the Leaf Nation to be bitterly disappointed as usual soon enough - the first round probably.

I'm a casual Hockey fan but when I've seen the Leafs play live they've been awful.

The Vegas Golden Knights have to be one of the most interesting teams in all of sport. They were a newly created team this season. Since they were the only new team this year they were allowed to pick one player from each team. Each team got to protect a certain number of players that the new team could not pick but that number was lowered for the "expansion draft" that happened before this season began. What happened then is the Golden Knights had a player that truly wanted to beat each team in the league because each player on the Vegas team came from a different team in the league. This basically created a team of misfits that had a certain grudge against each opponent that they played against.

Vegas ended up in first place in their division. They will now play the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the NHL playoffs. The Golden Knights will be very tough to beat. For Brayden McNabb this will be an especially interesting playoff series because he is the Golden Knight who is the former LA King.

Well aware of the history. But it's a different side now. They tanked to get Mathews, Plus traded for young developing talent such as Nylander and Mitch marner. JVR has stayed relatively injury free and his numbers show that. They added experience in marleau. Probably won't win the cup this year but I fully expect to get past the Bruins.

You don't get to 105pts being awful. They finished 4th in the conference above the penguins who have won the cup for the last two years. They are young and incossistant and still learning. Building for a run at the cup takes time and patience. Every team has good and bad runs in an 82 game season. You either have not watched them this season or been unlucky in the games you saw.

That and a conference with many transitional teams and those who's cup runs are now spent. The draft system and wage cap doesn't allow for years of domination. Having been the conference with more depth during the last few year's it looks like a few big names are now struggling.
