Game 1 went to the Bruins but only after a fightback. St Louis went 2-0 after 1 min of the second period. Boston responded immediately to cut the lead and levelled thing after 12 minutes. Sean Kuraly scored the go-ahead goal 5 minutes into the third and an empty net goal sealed the win. Game 2 tonight.

Missed the first game as I was in the Dominican Republic (ironically in the right timezone for once...) but planning to catch the 2nd game tonight.

Game 2 and the Blues tie things up. Most of the action took place in the first period. Boston led twice and St Louis came back to level it 2-2. No further goals until Carl Gunnarsson scored 3.51 into o/t on a delayed penalty. Two games in St Louis start on Saturday.

Was a scrappy affair I thought, surprised we (Bruins) were allowed the first as replays showed we had 6 on the ice at the time but it wasn't picked up, so a bit fortunate.

Nervous about going to St Louis.

Game 4 in St Louis was very good and close, 2-2 after 2 the Blues with the go-ahead goal with 9:22 to play, the final goal being an empty netter. So we are all square after 4 and the Stanley Cup becomes a best of three.

Game 5 goes to St Louis in a gutsy performance, their first goal was scored 55 seconds into the second period by Ryan O'Reilly and David Perron made it 2-0 with just under 10 minutes to play in the third. Jake DeBrusk got one back for the Bruins but that was it. The Blues can now win the cup on home ice on Sunday night.

Game 6 - The Boston Bruins used a big performance from goalie Tuukka Rask, their penalty kill, and a barrage of goals in the third period to prevent the St. Louis Blues from winning the Stanley Cup for the first time.

A 5-1 win at Enterprise Center on Sunday extended the Stanley Cup Final and gave Boston a chance to win the championship at home. So we have a game 7 and its all to play for.

BOSTON -- The Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win -- and the hardest to lose. Nothing is quite like the physical, mental and emotional grind of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

When the two-month marathon climaxes in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, the stakes are pushed to their extremes. The Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues dreamt of an opportunity like the one they'll have at TD Garden on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, SN, TVAS). One way or another, they'll have to live with the result.

"Winning and losing, it sticks with you forever," Bruins forward Brad Marchand said. "You don't forget everything that happens when you win, and you definitely don't forget what happens when you lose. Unfortunately, there's going to be both sides of that tomorrow, and we'll see how it plays out."

The Bruins' core has experienced each side before.
Marchand, goalie Tuukka Rask, defenseman Zdeno Chara and centers Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci helped defeat the Vancouver Canucks in 2011, the last time the Cup Final went to Game 7. Pictures of their celebration adorn the locker room to remind them of the rewards that could await.

Game 7 - Blues win Stanley Cup for first time and defeat the Bruins

St. Louis defeated the Boston Bruins 4-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final at TD Garden on Wednesday.
"It doesn't feel real," Blues center Brayden Schenn said. "It's absolutely incredible. I can't even explain. It feels like a video game we're in. It's what you dream of as a kid, posing with the Stanley Cup, getting to lift it. It's a special group. We're going to party hard."

Jordan Binnington made 32 saves; Alex Pietrangelo and Ryan O'Reilly each had a goal and an assist; and Schenn and Zach Sanford scored for St. Louis, which entered the NHL in 1967-68 and had never won a Cup Final game in three prior appearances (1968-70).

O'Reilly won the Conn Smythe Trophy, voted the most valuable player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Never been a huge fan of the Blues, but good to see a "worst to first" story in the NHL. Wonder if its ever happened to a city before where 2 of their sports franchises have been crowned Champs after being in the basement the year before? (the Rams went from 4-12 NFL chumps in 1998, to Super Bowl Champs in 1999)

Slightly off topic, but still hockey related...found this photo of a Gretzky tattoo on the Edmonton Oilers IG page last night. Insane art work!!
