Good. I think Cruzcampo is pretty much the only one on draught that's confirmed.
Hopefully hooking up with Mark from Burning Sky for a chat next week. His stuff is just flying at the moment.
All bodes well for somewhere great and individual in Hove.

It is unfortunate that there is not more local choice, at least in Verbier. Hopefully it will inspire some locals to gert in on the act, and talking to a local in the food and drink distribution industry that may be the case.
By the way I don't think the burgers analogy works. None of the beers mentioned are global in terms of mass production or distribution, it's just that a few have found outlets beyond their home turf.

Highly unlikely, being as the beer is as good as I've ever tasted.

What goes around, comes around. I can remember a whole life time of being faced with 2 'Bests' on bar tops everywhere and it not mattering one iota which one I picked, or all the other similar ones in other pubs because they were just that......all so similar..... And bland.
Lets hope the old adage, " you can't uninvent the wheel" stands true from now on.

I was levered in to The Mariner at the Marina on Sunday by mrs V, I was driving but it was her round so I thought " Ah well, at least I can have one good pint ".....I was confronted by two ales on tap, Harvey's and Doom Bar....... I had a coke and ice.

I was introduced to Brewdog's Punk about a year ago.
My mate, Questions, opened me a bottle at his garden table reckoning 'I might like this one', and crikey, he wasn't wrong.
I'll never forget my first taste of that beauty, it absolutely smashed my chops around with the hops. Just like my first shag, I'll never forget my first Punk.
I've wondered since then whether they're still a 'craft' brewer, seeing as you can buy Brewdog in the major supermarkets all over the land.
But hey, I don't care if they're called craft or not. The beer is fantastic and they care about it, and it's what waiting for Friday night is all about.
I don't give an ( arctic ) monkey's backside whether they brew more Punk than is in The Channel as long as it tastes the same as it does now.
Punk IPA is where it's at.

reckon he must be refering to Dark Star Seville...
(i wanted to like that, but could get past the overwhelming resemblance to washing up liquid). He got a point, which i think i was making some time ago, that a lot of the craft ales follow a distinct template, loading up on a few particular hops to give that citrusy, fruity flavour and aroma. if a country pub has three similar craft ales on, and nothing traditional, it seems the purpose has rather lost its point, to be different. much better when you venture in and find a mix of IPA, reds, olds, bests, golden ales, maybe a stout lurking, without worrying about their manufacturing on the pumphandle.

I agree – it does sometimes seem that the Craft Beer revolution has lost the plot. But then I read an article like this in one of the local papers where one of the punters interviewed thinks that a pint of Budweiser is as good as it gets, and realise that in America at least there is still a long way to go. I like one of the comments "I can drink 5 or 6 pints and still feel OK" - yeah, that's because it's gnats piss

That photo looks like the collection pinned above the bar in The Harp, near Covent Garden, possibly London's best pub (certainly one of the best). They had several Dark Star on draft last time I was in.

There's a small but rapidly growing craft scene here so it will be interesting to know what he thinks of it and if he plans to update the book.

I think they're both great.
It was just a joke that Craft Beer like 'Indie' music survives as much on the 'new, small, independent' factor as much as it does on quality on occasions.
