Around Berlin in 100 beers?
Sort of. It was only 80 Beers when I edited it...
It was the Tin Drum in Hove.
Complete makeover and rotisseries fitted for the chicken menu. Work in progress but looks awesome from what I saw. It'll be like a 'bar & canteen' feel to it.
The beer should be great too. Still to be decided but 5 or 6 different lagers. Think Camden Hells, Cruzcampo, Meantime, Burning Sky and you'll get the picture.
The bottles will also be mainly craft beer.
Opens in 5 weeks.
I'll be there in five weeks.
Good. I think Cruzcampo is pretty much the only one on draught that's confirmed.Too right, Cruzcampo ! my heart soars !
Thanks for the heads up. Out of interest this is the second former Tin Drum venue to convert to a craft bar. Is this their new direction or is it new owners?
At this point I am somewhat confused. You don't like the majors taking over craft brewers, but rejoice when in Switzerland you are offered "global" craft brands ? It seems to me the equivalent of slagging off McDonalds and then going half way around the world and eating in the Hard Rock Cafe. I don't doubt the burgers are better and more expensive, I just think it is unfortunate that there was not more local choice with appeal.
I think we are months away from people deciding that Brewdog has got too big and they never liked them anyway. They will the new Arctic Monkeys

Am I the only man in the UK who hates Craft Beer?
Good to see a lot of Dark Star beer mats in the illustration
What goes around, comes around. I can remember a whole life time of being faced with 2 'Bests' on bar tops everywhere and it not mattering one iota which one I picked, or all the other similar ones in other pubs because they were just that......all so similar..... And bland.
Lets hope the old adage, " you can't uninvent the wheel" stands true from now on.

If it’s a DIY affair, made by two blokes with large beards and asymmetric hair in a shed somewhere near Brighton, and is best described as "an acquired taste", then by some twisted logic it must be superior to the familiar, comforting strains of your traditional, mass-marketed brews.
He got a point, which i think i was making some time ago, that a lot of the craft ales follow a distinct template, loading up on a few particular hops to give that citrusy, fruity flavour and aroma. if a country pub has three similar craft ales on, and nothing traditional, it seems the purpose has rather lost its point, to be different. much better when you venture in and find a mix of IPA, reds, olds, bests, golden ales, maybe a stout lurking, without worrying about their manufacturing on the pumphandle.

Highly unlikely, being as the beer is as good as I've ever tasted.
And Arctic Monkeys are still great too.
