Just working my way through a crisp, zingy Saison Dupont while Mrs V has chanced her arm with a Brugse Zot Dubbel which is very similar to the Westmalle dubbel. A joy to have either TBH.
I like that Zot. It's underrated I reckon in the Dubbel stakes. The thing is its an easy drinker for 7%.
Just had a By a The Horns Morning Glory Oatmeal Stout. Had a slight off-putting sour taste. I checked RateBeer and it appears this is the regular taste as opposed to being off. Not nice. Now drinking a Weird Beard Coffee Milk Stout called Black Perle. Much much better.
Smooth drinking and quite tasty however, the Saison Dupont kept getting tastier the more I drank down the glass. Just had a re-check and I found in Vanuxeem it cost me 97c a bottle, thats approx 79 p a bottle.... I only bought 4 , sigh.
I've got a 750ml Brewdog Old World IPA in the fridge for tonight I think after a long tough week.

Looking forward to it
After we beat Palace 3-0 last season we celebrated in Craft with what was their most expensive tap. A Mikkeler stout if I remember at about 7 quid a half (I know I know) and that had a sour taste that I couldn't take to although I don't mind it in some other styles.
It has it's place but that place certainly isn't in a stout IMHO. I've had some really nice oatmeal stouts in the past so it was quite disappointing. I'm killing time now before a trip to a restaurant favorite for schnitzel, fried potatoes and draft Röthaus and Augustiner.
Well have a nice evening HT, I,ve plumped for the walk to the local hopefully for some Burning Sky ales.
Same to you. I will keep my fingers crossed you find some BS. Did you read the MorningAdvertiser link above? Burning Sky got a mention. Only had one of his beers but it was delightful; he's a very talented chap.
