Right you USA supporting lot, here's another reason not to support them. Their shirt is very akin to a certain 70's retro shirt

If Eddie Pope isn't subbed for at HT, I will not answer for the consequences.

Arena might just as well started my mailman out there...

Nothing like it, mate. They've obviously copied England's from 2002.

Way out west
The USA look to be really up for this one, no surprise really after their poor show against the Czechs, and I thought this afternoons' game was entertaining. Two deserved red cards, a cracking opener from the Italians, as soon as he hit the ball I knew that it would end up in the back of the net, then a complete and utter comedy moment, grazie Italia!!!

hopefully the 2nd half will be as good as the 1st

You have to hand it to the Yanks, they've gone for it and created a fascinating game, they deserved the comedy own goal.

De Rossi - oh dear, what a twat. This is a guy who has had a superb season in Serie A running Roma's midfield and scoring some great goals. But there is a fuse loose when this guy puts on an Azurri shirt - I watched the pre-tournament Italy v Switzerland game and De Rossi should have got a straight red in that game too for an appalling stamp but the ref unaccountably missed it. Way too young, trying way too hard and just way too stupid, a bit like Becks used to be years ago.

Lippi has got it right in getting rid of the frustrating Totti, giving away the ball way too easily.

Some might complain the ref has evened it up for Italy, but that's the same challenge that the Serb guy got sent off for in the Argie game, so there you go, FIFA have issued the instructions and that's all there is to it, no sympathy for studs up ankle-breakers like that.

Should be a fascinating second half and I'd be surprised if Italy's nous doesn't clinch this, even though they are not playing well.

What an Unbelevable game! probably the best of the WC so far. Another goal in this I feel.

These Italians fall over the moment a yank brushes them, the ref has got to be better at spotting the "fall".

Pleat thinks that the 9-man US team are playing 4-2-3.

I like to hear well-informed analysis.:lolol:

I don't know if I can stand another long short-handed grind-down, a la Barca & Arsenal.

I saw that one on tape delay, kew the outcome, and still lost ten pounds of sweat...
