History doesn't say that at all. It happened once. Or would you love it to happen again. You want Wilkins gone in spite of the majority backing him?

Diddums. Tough shit - he IS the manager.

And he's making a pretty decent fist of it.

Deal with it.

If you can back that up with facts then all well & good. Thing is mate, the facts say he aint doing a very good job.

Wilkins was one of my favourite Albion players and I'm gutted that he's doing badly by the way.

Yes algie, I know they were missing two key players today, but I still reckon that they would struggle in the Championship.

I couldn't care less about the Tin pot trophy - a few less games for our youngsters to play - if that mean an extra win or two in the league then i'm all for it.

Roll on Port vale at home saturday - 3 points in the bag

They have been knocking on the championship door for a few years now. There squad has improved slowly in that time and i believe they will finish around 15th with one or two signings in the summer

It is very obvious there are still half a dozen fans or so that were going to be against whoever was appointed after the McGhee years.

Why can you guys not get behind a manager that loves this club and has a very inexperienced side which he is trying to do his best with?

???

I was a very strong pro McGhee man but despite my anger at his sacking I really wanted Wilkins to suceed as he clearly loves the club and is still one of my favourite Albion players.

On the other hand though mate, loving the club and having a great playing career for them shouldnt guarentee you a managers job no matter how bad things are going - we saw this with Jimmy Case, nobody really wanted to sack him as he is a legend but in the end its the results here & now that matter.

Kuipers was awesome in the first half. Should have been 3 or 4 down.
If anyone was at fault for the first goal I would say it was Butters defending at the free kick. He looked shaky in the first half.
Lynch had Andres in his pocket all game.

City look what they are, a very good team. Always a threat in attack which was a complete opposite to us.

We played decent enough football across the park but with no cutting edge at all in the final third (How often have we said that this season?). Their goalie had very little to do all game.

A much better performance than the one defeat earlier this season though the result reflects the marked improvement in a promotion bound Bristol City

100% accurate post. How anyone who wasn't even at the game can criticise Kuipers really takes the biscuit. The guy was awesome. I'm not sure whether I particularly care whether Hendo or Kuipers is in goal, but this evening Kuipers put in a great performance.

I had the interesting experience of sitting with the directors, and having a good chat with the Chief Exec of BCFC before the game. He said they were only just recovering from the Play Off final in 2004. Their season has started relatively slowly but they've made some excellent signings and things started to gel before Christmas. They've now gone about 18 games unbeaten and are VERY confident, and (as you'd expect) everyone wants the ball. Their back four is excellent, and going forward they have loads of movement. Personally I think they'll give Middlesborough a really good run for their money on Saturday.

We played some good football in short bursts, but their goals came at bad times for us - the first just before half time when it looked like we'd weathered the storm, and the second just as we were beginning to put some pressure on them.

Frustratingly after we'd gone two goals down Robinson was played wide on the right and Gatting was on his own up front. El Abd pushed further forward, but in reality he was having too much defensive work to do to get close to Gatts. So, Jake - who was only real threat - then spent the last 25 mins or so hardly touching the ball. It was also rather surprising not to see Elder get a run out, at least for the last 10 or 15 mins. I'm sure Wilkins has his reasons, but these two decisions seemed very strange.

At least Gillingham lost tonight :)

Their Chairman is worth a fortune - when they go up (as I'm sure they will) they will have money to spend.

We can all blast each other away with facts and stats, but they don't tell the whole story - they don't even tell half the story. They didn't with McGhee, and they're not now. If the stats are your only point of reasoning, you have a very flimsy case.

He is re-building the squad, effectively from scratch, and you want to do away with this building for the future in favour of what? If you don't want to stick around and wait for the team to reap its rewards in the later months, and prefer instant gratification, that's up to you.

I, meanwhile, am perfectly happy for the club and the team to play the long game, and Dean Wilkins will get my total support all the while this is happening, fundamentally because (a) it is fully deserved and (b) it is the correct thing to do.

I was more gutted this evening in that I have now seen 9 consecutive defeats for Albion teams, something I am sure that I haven't achieved in over 25 years watching the team, I was really optimistic that my run would be ended today...alas it was not to be.

In only one of those 9 games did we actually look like winning, or even control the game, that was Forest away. That said, I still have another 5 games that I plan to go to this season (Brentford, Northampton, Tranmere, Swansea and Cheltenham), so every chance of ending my run.

An all round very poor performance by BHA.

Kuipers made 4 great saves in the first half. mind you 2 of them were covering his own mistakes but none the less he did get to the ball. Bad defending for the first goal and FDM seemed to be chasing shadows for the 2nd.

Result was not helped by some poor substitutions by DW who I am sorry to say seems to be being found out as being tacticaly wanting at this level. Couldnt understand why he sent on Chamberlain and then Frutos when we were losing 2 - 0 and had hardly had a shot for their keeper to save all night. You may as well lose 10 - 0 as 2 - 0 in a cup compettition so would have thought that the answer was to send on Elder when they scored their 2nd goal as we had nothing to lose.

It looks like another season of gloom hoping to avoid relegation. Didnt see Dean White there tonight was he away scouting or was that the reason he hasn't been available for the last 3 transfer windows.

The area we differ is that i think Wilkins is doing a good job and is way off the tin tack he like the kids have been chucked in the deep end.

As for Case did he love the Albion More than Liverpool or the Saints? Probably not and had he been coaching for years?
Jimmy was a big name that was all i am afraid.

Deano is very much a man who wants to achieve and better himself in life and for that alone i have no doubts he will achieve it ,i see him very focused as all good managers are - but he must be given time and even some small amount of money to do it.
It is unfortunately the people who remember us playing in the top flight still think we should be there and with the past 10years + it ain't going to happen for atleast another ten so us Albion lovers need to reset our target realistically and in the meantime get behind our team as we did when we were struggling in the last of the 92 clubs.

Time to reunite and build the team for Falmer.

Abort, retry, fail
Glad to hear that Kuipers had a good game. I am a 'best keeper in'. I was unsure of the FDM as the games I have seen him play this season, he didn't do enough to steal the shirt (IMO). We are very lucky to have two decent keepers, just a shame we can't merge them into one super keeper.

was a poor performance yesterday
I didnt agree with the 4-5-1 formation, especially when we went a goal down, robinson on the wing didnt work, and all hammond and cox were trying to do was switch the play to the right wing for robinson to chase it. I think only twice the ball got to robinson and one time we got a free kick on the very edge of the box

agree with kuipers keeping us in the game for 1st 20 mins with 4 great saves

it was funny to see the side playing rubbish and wilkins bringing the white board right to the touchline and all the players tring to look at it whilst the ball went out for a throw in

bristol were a better team all over, and loads of pace we just could not cope with.

there was not much inspiration on a cold night, and the crowd didnt sing in the second half

Bristol are a much better team. We didn't handle them badly. Other teams will do worse against them. Kuipers kept us in with a chance in the first half with some great saves.I felt sorry for Hammond he played really well but his range of passing options was limited by our static play. We need to move around a lot more and want the ball. Broke my Lovebus cherry. Enjoyable experience. Clean, comfortable, quick. I slept most of the way there and all the way back. Ms. Costa kept her controversial and imflammatory views to herself whilst keeping the bus very tidy, I shall use it again if they will have me.
