Off Topic - What's the best way to sell used DVDs?

Hi there,

We're looking to get rid of a lot of our DVD collection (we never watch them now) and I'm trying to find the most lucrative way to shift them.

I've looked at Music Magpie but they seem to offer very low prices for the ones I've checked (I've checked over 40 so far and all but about 5 have been priced at 30p each).

Is there a better way? ebay is the obvious, but it seems flooded with 2nd hand DVDs and Amazon's fees some prohibitive for doing this.

Any other suggestions?

I quite like Music Magpie, but if you've only got the same bollocks as everyone else you won't get much for them.

Classified section on here would be a start - free! Sure there might be some people on here (me included) that would be interested if the price was right!

Try taking them to a second hand CD/DVD shop - you generally get a better price there than on ebay et all

This. It is quite a lot of work, as you'd end up selling them individually, in batches and in bulk, but you get honest people offering you honest money.

the fees are quite high on amazon but at least you get a decent price, sell most of my second hand games on there.
sold my league of gentlemen box set for £9 after fees, music magpie was a complete piss take.

Unfortunately there's very little value in DVDs now, bar a few exceptions such as Disney discs.

Selling individually via the post would be an awful lot of effort for very minimal financial gain.

I'd try something like Gumtree, or similar, and sell them as a job lot with someone picking them up from your front door. Although I've never been to one, I guess a car boot sale might be the lowest pain option for selling them individually.

Failing that - take them to the charity shop of your choice and let them earn a few quid to help them out.
