Jamie Jackson in the Observer:

"The opening half was akin to the Basel defeat: United dominated but were unable to score."

Is this straight from the Donald Trump book of alternative facts? Was he in the bar for the first 45 minutes? Was he even there? Expected the usual biased coverage towards Man Utd but this is totally ridiculous.

"Brighton dominated but were unable to score" would be a better description to be honest.

Don't worry yourself about the poor coverage. The Guardian referred to Bruno as "Huddersfield Captain" and the BBC wrote "Bruno's pace caused United problems"

Read it via the Guardian website yesterday. It was full of glaring factual inaccuracies as well as questionable opinion.

They've edited it somewhat since (to correct the suggestion that Bruno plays for Huddersfield, for example) but it still contains stuff like this...

Instead, it was the maligned Victor Lindelöf who fired them and the home crowd up with a sliding tackle on Gross. It left Gross prone and the Brighton support booing as those in red shirts played on but suddenly the Old Trafford crowd found its voice and atmosphere.

Wasn't it The Observer (Amy Lawrence?) who once reported 1500 words on an Albion-West Ham cup-tie at Upton Park and failed to mention the Albion even once? Then blamed that slight oversight on the sub-editor?

Hmnn, Amy Lawrence is usually fairly clued up on the Albion. At least nowadays. Back in 2007 though she may have been an uneducated HEATHEN!

As somebody who has spent an evening watching Jamie Jackson drink absinthe in the Vesuvius Bar in San Francisco, and was then vastly entertained by the consequences, I can assure you that he's a very interesting guy and basically okay. But like a lot of Manchester-based football writers, he only takes any notice of what City and United are doing.

Therefore my post is correct

Do tell more.
