High up on the South Downs.
Charlie tried so hard yesterday but he doesn't fit in with Alexis who needs Richard Carpenter's strength in the middle. Failing that have Dean Hammond in the middle because he wins a lot in the air and is weak on the flank and play Charlie wide or bring back Gary Hart.
Sorry I know this site isn't about football.

Charlie is a great character but he is simply not good enough for this divison, Hammond is not a winger and had we started with Hammond in the middle and Jarrett on the wing I think we would have picked up something from the game.

We needed Charlie as he is the obvious captain when Danny is out.

We definitely need more pace in the midfield. Jarrett showed just how dangerous he can be on Saturday with his pace. Once he learns how to deliver a final ball he could be a very useful player.

Being contraversial here, I would be inclined to play Leon out wide.

Apart from Currie, Leon is by far and away the best crosser of the ball in the club and if Oatway hadn't effed up that perfect ball that Leon played into him by headering it on to the railway line, I recon we would have nicked a point

Leon will certainly start throwing toys out of his pram if put out wide, as he did at Wednesday.

CLEARLY THE WORST PLAYER EVER TO WEAR AN ALBION SHIRT even worse than Richard Tiltman

I think that Charlie should be on the bench at best.

If we need someone to add fight to the midfield, then Chippy has got to be a better option. Or, even Kerry Mayo, I thought he won a lot of challenges when he pushed into midfield towards the end on Saturday, and he can pass the ball.

Horses for courses, there are games where a psychotic dwarf is a necessity. At other times Oatway isn't as usefull. First choice central midfielders for me should be Nicolas and Carpenter. Oatway as cover or when we need a bit more muscle.

i thought he was poor there
should have been sent off

which really does bring in to question does he have a roll at the albion he has been great for the club but if we are to move forward and get new players in we have to release the players who dont make the grade.

this will release some funds for these new players

i tend to agree with that but we cant afford to release him

Its a shit situation to be in forced to keep the poorer players as we cant afford to get any one in and if we sold first then buy being short of players

i know charlie will be pissed at being out classed at this level a great player for the team in the past

McGhee told Oatway in the summer that if he is not a first team regular during first half of the season then around about Christmas time he will tell Charlie that he will not be offered a new deal for next season; I assume Charlie may be allowed to leave early if he wanted to; which would be a hard decision for him as he obviously likes being a major part of the club

Last year Pethick, Marney and Wilkinson were released by McGhee mid season

This year it could be Hart, Jones, Oatway and Watson - all key players in their time but not really up to it at this level - although Knight unfortunately gave them all 3 year ( or two year +1 ) deals during the Hinshelwood / no manager for three months summer

If we can't afford a target man - freeing up the above wages would surely help secure the likes of Benjamin / whoever on loan for the last three months of the season - younger players making an impact can then all get rewarded with better contracts as well
