Oatway and Watson

Charlie is great in the dressing room no doubt and a gutsy player. Paul Watson was a star in our two championship seasons. Isn't it time for both of them to make way for ElAbd or Hinshelwood (Watto) and Harding who is physically much stronger than Charlie? The one thing positive about yesterday was that young players were on the bench and Harding & Virgo did well.

Charlie's just getting back from serious injury and did OK yesterday, IMHO (if you insist). Give him a bit of slack whydoncha. Not Virgo's mum by any chance are you - cos you keep bangin' on about him?

Oatway didn't even make the match squad towards the end of run up to winning Div 2, think it is time he left.

if we could get rid of oatway for somebody better then fair enough. otherwise we could do with keeping all the players we have got for now. we dont have a massive squad.

i would give el abd, wattos place dunno about harding yet, not seen much of him

Perhaps Virgo's not that good but I keep on about him simply because he became a non-person from Oct2002-Jan2004. Was he a political prisoner?
He played well for us at Watford in Hinsh's last game and then strangely disappeared.
Like Harding, El Abd and Hammond he has the physical strength that so many of our team lack.

I thought Oatway played well, especially considering it was his first start after a lengthy injury. He's a ball winner and he did that well. We could have done with him in previous games such as Tranmere etc. Oatway is a good player and is going to do very well for us this season imho. I reckon people will appriciate him a lot more come the end of the season if he gets a good run in the team.

Kerry is slow but is strong. Possibly Dan Harding could do the job.
My problem with Charlie is that he's seen as a hard man but his main assets are his free kicks and corners.
I don't think young players should be thrown in too soon. Jake Robinson is a potential star but needs to be protected until he's physically ready.
I haven't seen Dan Beck yet. Some of the crowd I sit with reckon he is ready to play in the first team.

Mayo's played more games this season than anyone else in the side. He's under rated by most fans. You'll miss him when he's gone. Any other suggestions for left back? Nathan Jones?

For what it's worth, I agree with you about Kerry but am unconvinced about Charlie.
Watson seems to have lost it.

Again I'll have to disagree!

It's obvious Watson is no longer a threat from set-pieces. However I believe he links up with the midfield very well. He has a great understanding with Gary Hart. He's an expirienced defender too. He's by no means brilliant but he's the best we have. El-Abd and Hinshelwood are too defensive for full backs for me. I guess they lack the confidence to get up the pitch a bit. Having said that El-Abd got very far up the pitch at Notts County to set up Leon. :p
