O/T Postal votes

Does anyone know if a postal vote should have arrived by now? I'm reading that people have already started voting, but mine has yet to appear, even though I registered on the day the election was announced. Am I a victim of poll-rigging, or simply impatient?

Mine arrived Friday, sent back Saturday.

Why haven't I received my postal ballot paper?
You should receive your postal ballot about one week before the election. If it doesn't arrive, you can get a replacement ballot paper in person from your Returning Officer up until 5pm on election day.

Mtoto - did you receive a confirmation in the post that you are registered now and would be allowed to vote by post? If not, it is possible that the process has not completed. You can call your returning officer (search online) or call one of the political parties standing in your area - number on their leaflets, they will have the number.

What he said

I got my form for the local election last week, and for the general yesterday

It would appear likely that you have not been processed as a postal voter, especially if you have not received the confirmation letter

Have you received your polling card with your voter number on. If not your probably not registered.
I applied on line and didn't get a confirmation letter.

Thanks for the replies, I did it online and didn't get a postal confirmation, but I spoke to someone at the Council offices today and it's just taking a bit longer than expected to get some of them out. Seems I will not be disenfranchised after all.
