We're thinking of doing Oktoberfest this year for my mate's stag do. Has anyone on here been? Any tips greatfully received? ....and can anyone recommend a decent travel company?

I'm definitely heading that way this year, I've not been before.

There is another similar massive but less well-known one in Stuttgart a week later which is far less touristy, if anyone fancies a slightly cheaper, less mental alternative. Some pissheads/virtual tramps go straight from Munich to Stuttgart (and then on to casualty, presumably).

I'm going to a stag do of an Albion fan at Oktoberfest. Who is your mate?

went a couple of years ago,
the trick is to get a table early in one of the tents as they fill up pretty quick ,or if you do not mind standing you can visit as many tents as you like there is live music in all of them and some serious drinking as all you can get is stiens which hold a litre of beer
real good party atmosphere and some seriously sexy ladies :p :drink: :drink:

But remember, 5 big breweries have a monopoly of the Oktoberfest.

There are about 150 other breweries in Bavaria that you also need to try.

How did it work? Do you need to get tickets or do you just turn up on the day? There could well be 30 or so of us...

You can get tickets and book but all we did was turn up and hang around the different tents Im sure there is a web site that tells you .plus it is better visiting the different tents ( More like hangars) as there is lots more different music and atmosphere as well as a big fun fair
