can anyone recommend a 'no win no fee' solicitors or a solicitor that can take up a case for my poor old mum who is now lying in a hospital bed with a broken ball joint at the top of her femur because the fuckin hospital a&e department examined her and sent her home with pain killers and brufen without giving her an xray and told her it was only muscular  :censored: :censored: she spent 9 days walking around, albeit very slowly, like this not realising that the ball at the top of her femur has shattered..........

sorry i'm babbling on...can anyone advise please

p.s. i dont normally agree with this compensation lark but i am so angry at the moment and its all i can think about (apart from my mums health that is)

p.p.s. in the eastbourne/hampden park area btw

Err, Speak to CAB and they will point you in the right direction. Thats the best advice I can offer sadly.

Hope your mum gets better soon.

Most of the ones that advertise on TV are nationwide. I have not used them myself but would suggest looking at their websites etc to get a feel for them. The main thing is to pick one that does not tie you in to some sort of credit agreement first. A lot of them get you to sign a credit agreement to pay for their fees. Then if you win that loan is included in the settlement and if you lose they pay of the loan.

thanks wardy, i have been surfing the net this morning and they all 'look' inviting but as you said they all seem to have some sort of credit agreement that needs to be signed. i also found an interesting document produced by the CAB called 'no win, no fee, no chance' which doesnt look too good for anyone that wants to take that route. my mum is a pensioner and cannot afford a solicitor. from what i have gleaned this morning, legal aid has gone out the window for solicitors and the only route to take for people with 'no' money is this no win no fee lark

legal aid is still available for clin neg cases which is what your mums case is. but you will still need to apply for LSC funding through a good solicitor.

most solicitors will offer a free 1st interview, probably worth having a chat through with one to find out your options, but I would avoid these no win no fee people

It might be worth a phone call to a local firm to see what they think, especially if you can get legal aid as you won't have to worry about paying for much higher travelling fees etc if the case does go to court

HI a really good clin neg firm is Wynne Baxter. The contact their is Melanie Minter. She is a partner. They have offices in Brighton but also Seaford? I think she is based in the Brighton office, but the number for the seaford office is 01323 891412. If you speak to her say that you have had a recommendation from LawAssist Legal Services (my company)

If thats no good come back to me.

LSC is the new name for the Legal Aid Board, It stands for Legal Services Commission.
