Whenever I catch this show I find myself wanting the pompous, theatrical contestant in the hotseat to go away with as little money as possible and this is the only basis on which I ever watch it. If the contestant in the hotseat is actually a decent person I switch off as I'm indifferent to the outcome.

Am I the only cynical, bitter and twisted bastard who watches it with this mindset?

:O

Some woman has just won the £250,000 (from Devon) the show will be shown in the new year.

I enjoy watching them lose - sad eh!

Yeah the most enjoyable episodes I have seen are the 1p winners or similar, most amusing.

Only seen it a few times but sat with a big Grin when one greedy bint was offered £10k by the banker, a good offer as she had a poor number of low amounts left, she turned it down and the next offer was £95, the lowest offer I have heard the banker give. Sadly she won £1,000.

I love the way Noel tries to get people to concentrate so that people only pick blue ones and then they go and get the £250,000. That makes me smile as well!!

I must be sad as i quite like watching it.

After Millwall on Tuesday saw some dire programme called The Mint on ITV. A 2 year old is more intelligent than the presenters on that!

The concept that they can, through a random selection process, have any kind of control over the game even before factoring in the absolute cast iron fact that the 'banker' knows exactly where each amount is, is ludicrous. Surely they can see that? They would do exactly as well opening the boxes in numerical order. They must be utterly stupid if they think you can play the game 'well'.

It's much better in Spain, where it's been around for much longer as 'Alla Tú', because the phone calls from the bank are made when they are most effective, not at fixed intervals. It also has the huge advantage of not having that bearded, shortarsed, bad-jumper-wearing obsequious bad haired twat presenting it.
