RIGHT.

i got some help off you chaps a while back with regards to my cd drives not appearing in my computer/nero, etc and generally seeming to not be there.

i tried a few suggestions and discovered that they are still listed in the bios.

i REALLY dont want to have to reformat my computer... is there anything else in the WORLD i can do to get them back?!?!

ive tried running system restore, but it appears i have no 'restore points' past yesterday. great.

PLEEEEEEEEASE. any help will be rewarded with sportsman booze/photos of your favourite rockstars :jester:

xx

i recently had some major snags with my pc and i contacted blueyonder who were unable to help but they did put me in touch with the following website

www.experts-exchange.com

it is full of computer boffins who enjoy fixing other peoples problems to earn themselves points. i had to subscribe $9.95 for a one months period. i got my help from some guy in hong kong and i have now got a perfect pc at home. it was well worth the investment. dont forget to unsubscribe before the months up.

up to you

Any error code?

Search the web.

experts-exchange is top drawer, been on it for 8 years.

cant find much on the web, but then i'm not too techie so may be missing something.

have posted a question on experts exchange and looking thru the past ones, they should be able to solve it!!

cheers :)

unhelpful hat on: you need to search this on the interweb as your more likly to find a solution. try google groups - click on "groups" above the search box and then enter you search query.

Helpful hat on: What OS, when did this happen, what did you do to the computer in the days before the problem. ie what has changed.

EDIT: So what was the problem???

it appears that when doing some housekeeping and deleting old programs... one of them being alcohol buring prog, it altered the registry.

ive had to delete the upper and lower filter keys, and now reinstall my burning software, etc as it doesnt like it now (the bloke said this would happen)

bloody relieved!!!

Have you got XP by any chance ? There is a huge problem with conflicts between Windows build in burning drivers and third party burning software.
