Im looking to buy a laptop for myself, seeing as i got a bit of spare cash around the house. It'll used for gaming like Fm and Elder Scrolls, so it has to be a gd standard, ive been on Dabs,Dell and laptop shop, but does anyone know any decent websites where the laptops are at a decent standard and at a reasonable price?

Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried the Amazon link at the top of the page? Or PC World.

I've had four Dell's over the past ten years with no problems, except for one where the keyboard connector came loose, which took fuve minutes for me to repair given instructions over the phone. I know that there support has had some bad press but they have been very solid laptops and they seem have a full range to suit most needs.

We have two Dells right now and have had several in the past few years with no problems. One is a Precision M90 and the other is 6400 (Inspiron?)

We had a problem that meant the laptop had to be replaced (not their fault - my kids triped over the wire and sent the thing flying from the kitchen side) and they sent us a new laptop that arrived within 5 days of me reporting it.

I like them enough and they do the job - web surfing, my husband plays games on them, etc but I much prefer my G4 Powerbook. I don't often use the Dell if I can get on the Powerbook.

if you buy a laptop from comet then make sure you pay a little bit extra for an extended 3 year warranty (costs about £120) this covers you against all damage done to the laptop and means that any repairs are done free of charge by comet..if the laptop is beyond repair then they simply replace it with a similar priced laptop to the one you purchased as its unlikely that the one you bought shall still be on sale.

the benefit of having this warranty is that coming to the end of the 3 years that you're covered for you can 'accidently' drop your laptop down a flight of stairs for example resulting in them replaceing it with a brand new model-three years down the line this shall obviously be far superior to your current laptop-in a sense its a free upgrade.:)

Got one from laptopsdirect.co.uk a few weeks ago. Top name - Toshiba - and it arrived almost before I'd ordered it.
