BT have at last decided that those of us out in the stix (sp?) do need Broadband. So, all you bb users, which service is the best? I would be looking for at least 512kb, which most service providers seem to be charging about £25-£27 per month for, though I noticed BT are doing 1mb for £29.99 per month. My other priority is getting rid of AOL. It seems to have got far slower, you lose your emails once you have read them unless you save them, and you have to download and save attachments separately. Do all the other services use Outlook? Any help will be gratefully received.

Cheers
WHS

I was with pipex before f2s, my connection kept dropping in the first 6 months, when i say dropping i mean every couple of f***ing minutes.

Most infuriating!

Really, a guy in the office here has it and sais its fine so i was considering it, perhaps a bit more shopping around is required then.

I use wanadoo 512K @ £17.99 a month with free and modem and connection. It is supposed to be limited to 2GB a month but I don't think this service limitation is active yet.

It sorted itself out in the end, could have been the area i was in?

It was something like £22.44 per month.

Freedom 2 surf is good tho at £22.50 per month. Dunno who offers what tho.

I'm with BTOpenworld - no complaints about the service or connection, but BT are talling about implementing a monthly download cap (15GB I think - which is a lot), but if you're thinking of downloading lots of music/videos or listening to internet radio etc, avoid BT

As I always say on these threads, I've been with Pipex for 18+ months without a hitch. I would recommend them.

They're £23.44 a month

Excuse my nobbishness, but am I right in thinking that these are flat prices with no additional costs for usage, etc?

I got AOL and they offer a very good service, never ever had a problem and the extra channels you get ain't bad value. £24.99 is pretty good value for what you get.
