Superb - if you missed it, the next one is on BBC2 tomorrow night at 10pm I think. Give it a go. I suspect the first one will be on iPlayer.

[Christian Right lobbied to have it banned - so must be worth checking out]

Don't usually go for American pap but I watched and quite enjoyed it.

Following on from the Lynda la Plante thing on ITV gave me 90 mins away from NSC. Think Mrs wondered who i was!

If you haven't given this a go yet I highly recommend it.

They seem to be showing one a night at 10pm on BBC2. First two episodes on iPlayer, third on Beeb 2 tonight.

It's kind of like a cynical version of ER with a bit more wit and a lot more black humour - and it focusses on a very few characters - not an ensemble piece like ER.

It has the wonderful Eve Best in it (albeit playing a rather caricature of a Brit) - I wondered why such a talented actor had disappeared from the London stage.

I thought it was all right but I wouldn't want to stay in especially to see it.

Handled the anxiety storyline in a sensitive way. When i read what kind of programme it was,i didn't like the sound of it.Ok though.

I caught a bit of the chicken soup episode last night and that was enough to make me watch the first episode on i-Player to see what all the fuss was about. My criticism of most American comedy shows, apart from the fact that most are about as funny as a dose of the shits, is that they always seem to have some sort of moral undertone...probably so as not to upset the conservative religious right. This show has a woman who does all the things that you wouldn't expect of a nurse, taking drugs during her duties, robbing patients and shagging a colleague.

I can't say whether this is a grower or not, but there is a black side to the humour that will probably mean I watch another episode before making my mind up...my appreciation of American comedy has been limited to the Fresh Prince and Seinfeld...maybe that list is about to grow!

I watched it and probably won't again, is infidelity so accepted?

I wouldn't say it is accepted at all, but it is a fact of life, there are people who don't see fidelity in relationships as being important...much of humour is based on weaknesses in human nature, I guess this is just another one of them.

Personally whilst I think its a fact of life, I won't be watching any tv where its presented so blase-ly...I watch tv to be entertained, not saddened. Probably why I prefer decent comedy.

I quite this, despite missing the first episode. Product placement isn't that bad but a little obvious.

I think you might be missing the point. There is nothing blase about the way she is dealing with her infidelity. She seems to be wrestling with the fact that she loves her husband but that she is also attracted to - and comforted by - another man. I think we'll see her anxiety be explored.

As for entertaining? I think the fat that a nurse is presented as human - and frail like the rest of us - is very refreshing compared to the usual Grey's Monotony and ER crap. It's funny and entertaining and still finds time to explore the emotions of a woman under pressure.

I'm liking it.
