Bevendean Barcelona - only now and again when I was sober enough on a Sunday morning.

What year was that ?

Personally:

The all conquering Bevendean Barcelona 79-83 (played opposite the real Chappers many times)
Melford FC 83-85/6
Peacehaven FC (trial only) 85/6
Southwick FC (2 x trial only) 85/6
NSC London Regents Park/Westbourne Pk 2003-2093

At 15 i got a job during school summer holiday at a chippy between the Belvedere and the Fortune of War (and susequently found beer and birds..) and that was the the end of regualr footie for me, until NSC London a few years ago - good to be back..!

Retired 1985 - Burnt out. :(

Played for several Saturday/Sunday teams since - even in a semi-pro league until some fucker broke my ankle.

I just sit on my arse watching now.

Steyning Grammar, various teams over the years
Univ of East Anglia (mainly 2nds)
KPMG
Cuckfield (Sat)
Burrell Arms (Sun)

Now happily retired, apart from the odd 5-a-side.

And I once entered a team in that massive 6-a-side tournament in Hassocks that used to be held the first Sat in August, 80 teams in 16 groups of 5. The fulfilment of a dream after watching it for years, followed by a massive barbecue and piss-up. Lost in a penalty shoot-out (ahem..Pavilionaire?).

Is that still going?

Hove Dynamos (The Mighty 'Mos) 70/71,71/72
Alpine Rovers 72/73, 73/74
Southwick 73/74 (Briefly - 'til they sussed me out)
Hangleton 74 - 78
Alliance 79 - 93 (ish)
Hangleton (again) 93/94 then took up coaching
Packed in playing consistently in '95 but played my last competitive game in '97 when I played half an hour for Lewes reserves in goal 'cos our keeper was late getting to the game (we won 3 - 1 at Oakwood....and , yes, I let in the 1)

Spent most of 'career' playing Centre Half with the occasional sortie up front a la Virgo

I was also captain of Collyers 1st Team as well and obviously played for Forest Boys School as well.

Anyone else play for Collyers?
i didn't play for collyers but i did play for forest boys but some 16 years before you!

and i played for chesworth rovers and tigars.

also one game for horsham fc. a pre-season friendly-never asked back though!

incidently a lad called franco massimo was in the year below in the same house (tyler) remember him playing for the albion?

Primary School team.
Newport Primary Schools Representative XI.
Then pushed into playing rugby at secondary school.
Then moved to England and pushed into playing the version of rugby that was more interested in "character building" than winning that passes for the game in English secondary schools.
Football resumed at Under-15 level in a team that consistently ended up bottom of the league.
Took up drinking, watching Birmingham City and only the occasional friendly kickaround.

I could have been a great player, if it hadn't have been for ...
