Funny thing, nostalgia.

Just think, in 30 years time, NSC old-timers will be getting all dewy eyed about when we used to sing "We're the South / North Stand Brighton boys". And "What's it like to be in Hove?" and remember those fantastic steak pies and burgers - less than twenty quid each back then! And you could get in for only 23 quid!

"Of course, that was back in the good old days, when we had a real football ground, at Withdean -- with real rain - no global warming droughts back then! And you remember those fantastic ponchos? Made of real, non-biodegradable plastic!!

And it was always totally packed out every game, even when we were doing badly? The cold and the rain never bothered us. We turned up because we were real fans, and we never ever slagged off the players... or the manager! That Mark McGhee.. one of the all-time great managers...

Withdean, eh? Not like this poxy plastic fans' Hoogstraaten Memorial Superdome we have to put up with nowadays at poxy Falmer... Whose idea was it to go to that shithole? Why didn't we go to Sheepcote? Or Toads Hole Valley?

Who is it we've got in the Champions League next week? Noo. Not Barcelona again...

...and when we sold Little Leon, the England record goal scorer who came good after he left us.

But it'll be great buying the Big Issue from Bag Lady DeVecchi and Stumbling Hobo Baker!

And they'll remember how the Family Stand was packed out, every game. And how no-one ever left before the end at Fortress Withdean...
