Much debate has been had on the merits of the parties involved. So let NSC decide.

Who will YOU be voting for, if at all, next week.

In the poll I've included every party that scored more than 3% in England in 2009 elections.

Maybe posters might want to put a short comment, if they wish, about why they are voting for a certain party.

I wasn't actually aware there were to be any elections.

I think that's the problem with the European elections, even if you were saying this sarcastically. I doubt most people could name 5 of their 'local' MEPs.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all, and you're right that I've precisely no idea who my MEP is, what party he/she may represent or indeed what difference his/her work makes to my life.

I don't vote for a party - I vote for the person who appears to best represent my views.

This poll is indicative of the real problem with modern politics - parties. If ballot papers didn't include details of the party the candidate stood for then voters would have to learn a little about what they stood for.

We currently have 10 in the South-East, which the boundary stretches from Oxford, to Hampshire, to East Sussex. Farage is one of them. If I didn't have an exam coming up on politics, I would have no clue about it either.

Nifty election video too.

Videos like that make me cringe so hard. I don't know what it is that's annoying about it though, I suppose it's just politicians sounding so condescending.

Well I've certainly no intention of voting for that bigoted tosser.

Which is a huge problem with the Party List system. You could really like a politician but he could be 10th, which basically means he has no chance of getting in. I do agree with you though, it would also mean politicians would focus on their areas more in campaigning if they did.

I think it's quite a good video. It obviously not there to try and beat Labour or the Tories, but to try and gain ground on one of the smaller parties. It has Farage imitated perfectly.

He will always get in because of proportional representation, as will a few Nazis from the BNP. Thank flip it never made it when the Lib Dems wanted it in a few years back.

Honestly no idea who I'll vote for yet. Won't be UKIP, won't be the Tories and won't be any of the smaller Socialist parties standing. Probably won't be Labour either, although I'd need to double check what their European record/manifesto is like. Green or Lib Dems are more likely I suppose.

Not voting, it's a pointless act that achieves nothing other than perpetuating the myth that this kind of democracy still works.

Those of you voting UKIP, why bother? Your votes for BNP last time round didn't make any difference, did they?

Do you feel that representative democracy doesn't work generally, or simply representative democracy at European scale?
