And onto Group C

whisper it quietly but a lot of people are calling this the GROUP OF DEATH

Republic of Ireland- Managed by Liam Brady

Another hugely fancied side who benefit from sheer numbers and squad depth that is the envy of the tournament. The side is well balanced, hard working and talented featuring some all time greats.

GK: Wayne Henderson

RB: Kieran O'Regan
CB: Shane Duffy
CB: Mark Lawrenson
LB: Stephen Ward

RM: Gerry Ryan
CM: Tony Grealish
CM: Gary Dicker
LM: John Byrne

FW: Evan Ferguson
FW: Michael Robinson

Subs: Jayson Molumby, George O'Callaghan, Aaron Connolly, Andrew Moran, Gary Howlett, Paul McShane, Keith Andrews, Colin Hawkins,

Netherlands- Managed by Michel Kuipers (player manager)

There is talent in this Dutch squad but you could be looking at the least balanced squad in the tournament. This is proved with an embarrassment of riches in the goalkeeping department leading to a bizarre formation with Bart Verbruggen playing as a sweeper behind the extremely talented back 3. A lack of goals could be an issue.

(1-3-3-3)
GK: Michel Kuipers

SW: Bart Verbruggen

CB: Joel Veltman
CB: Hans Kraay
CB: Jan Paul van Hecke

CM: Danny Holla
CM: Davy Propper
CM: Soufyan Ahannach

RW: Elvis Manu
CF: Roland Bergkamp
LW: Rajiv van la Parra

Subs: Kjell Scherpen, Tim Krul

Wales- Managed by Nathan Jones (player manager)

Nathan Jones brings a talented side to Withdean. One thing that goes in favour is their squad depth and balance which could see them squeeze into the second round. There is goals in this side too with Saunders and Nogan forming a mouth watering front two.

GK: Mark Walton

RB: Eric Young
CB: Joel Lynch
CB: Ed Turns
LB: Nathan Jones

RM: John Robinson
CM: Andrew Crofts
CM: Robbie Savage
LM: Peter O'Sullivan

CF: Dean Saunders
CF: Kurt Nogan

Subs: Sam Vokes, Craig Davies, Arron Davies, Jordan Davies, Mickey Thomas,

Wales, just for me. Nogan and Saunders is GOAL CENTRAL.

Dutch side will really struggle for goals.

Dutch tough to beat, but aint scoring against anyone. Out of the tournament with 3 goalless draws

Wales v Ireland to decide it. Wales, positively lethal out wide, but Ireland's extra quality off the bench to prove too much

Agree.

A brutal fight out between Ireland and Wales.

If only there was some player with a Dutch grandparent then it might be different.

Ireland are dark horses for the whole tournament for me. Quality throughout.

Holland are really going to have to dig down into the total football philosophy to get out of the group.

Ireland vs Wales would genuinely be a really good game

as long as Brady keeps this Ireland team out of the Sportsman they should go far

if George O'Callaghan twigs that there's a pub nearby it could cause a devastating domino effect throughout the squad

Shame that we can't include NIreland - the World Cup deserves an unbelievable 5 minute Paddy McCourt cameo. Aaron Hughes also.

if negotiations go well in what is being dubbed "Good Friday Agreement 2" you could well see a United Ireland A and United Ireland B at next years tournament
