My friend Gully pops up,that is a suprise.
I want to live in a British christian society where our heritage and values are a priority.I don't want to incorporate or embrace other nations cultures, history, religion etc into our schools or everyday life or take over.

You will not be voting liberal then?

Well, there is a lot of research in child development that suggests learning about other cultures, history and religions adds definition and meaning to your understanding of your own way of doing things and how you see the world. So, for example, you get a much, much richer understanding and appreciation of Christianity when you see it within the context of other religions.

Answer one question. Why should we allow Asylum seekers to enter this country when they cross many countries if not a continent to get here?
You know fall well they get an easy ride here more then any other country. This is there promise land of freebies and handouts and if you think i'm going to help fund there cosy lifestyle here then you are most certainly wrong.

People have the right to claim asylum under international law. Most refugees are in Africa and Asia, those that come here may have family links, do not feel safe or free from persecution elsewhere, speak English as their second language rather than the language of neighbouring countries, etc.

They get a fraction of the value of standard benefits and are prevented from working despite often having high level skills to offer.

Go and speak to someone who has been tortured, seen their family killed/raped/imprisioned, been persecuted for their ethnicity/religion/beliefs if you think they in anyway get a free ride.

I think friend is pushing it a little far...I would rather describe myself as your nemesis!

In some respects we are similar, but also different, I want to live in a society that has respect not only for our traditions but also respects those of others...as long as they are compatible and practiced within the laws of our land...can't you see that the very culture, history and religion that you allude to have already been formed largely by influences from beyond our shores.

Where did Christianity come from, that appears central to your vision for society, did it exist in Britain before we were invaded by the Romans...err, I think not!

How about our language, English...which itself has its roots in Latin, Greek and French?

I find it rather ironic that the BNP use Churchills image. It was a multi-national force that defeated the Nazis NOT just the British - many of whom were allowed to then stay in this country during and after the war. We allowed many Poles to come here as well as Jews of many nationalalities.

Rather like we do now.

It's not though is it? Every nation has evolved in time but Gully clings to ancient history for his excuse to defend his left wing agenda's.Constantine the Great brought christainity centuries ago and since then through the Roman and Norman invasion we have adpoted the alphabet, language etc. This is what makes us what we are today,British and christians(majority). This what identifies us today on the world map and it's been like this for centuries.

Gully did raise a very good point though.Love to hear your response to it.A while back you bent over backwards defending Hamas and comdoming the state of Israel.Your anti Jewish feelings were pretty clear and obvious so how do feel about a Jew running our great club?

So then, because it's been like this for ages, that's ok then. How about looking forward,we are a multi-cultural nation now and it will not change from that.

I am not clinging to ancient history algie, although you are right about history shaping our country, most of what we have and stand for has come from more developed cultures elsewhere...you don't have to go far back to see a country made up largely of peasant farmers!

History evolves, it doesn't stand still, ours is changing as we speak.

That makes it sound rather black and white. I'm not anti-Jews, what I objected to was the Israelis bombing civilians, breaking international law and holding onto invaded lands. I wasn't pro Hamas - I was pro palestinian and fully understood why they felt it was necessary to attack it's bullying neighbour with rockets. That is just the tip of it - but it's not for this thread.

TB is Jewish, so what ? If he was Israeli and supported the Israeli goverments actions then I would have an issue but just because he's Jewish - nah - thanks to him we've got the funding for a brand spanking new stadium.

Yes, every nation has evolved in time, partly through foreign influence, but it sounds like you want that process to stop. So it's OK for a bunch of Normans to militarily invade us and put an arrow in our king's eye, but not OK for the current generation of immigrants to share their heritage, ideas and values with us?

Don't lower yourself to that garbage Gully. The root to all evil is MONEY AND RELIGION.You may not see the serious repercussions in your life time and by the sound of it you have no children but i do.The spread of Islam within this country will only lead to endless conflicts and misery.Parts of this country being divided up or no go areas which are happening now. This will continue to spread like cancer and you know that deep down. You only have to look back in history.
Anyway i'm off now.
