My business advisor is the brother of Ronnie Fenton (Cloughies former Number 2 at Forest) and dyed in the wool a Forest man.

Apparently everyone at Forest are feeling desperate after last night's result .... they are at last facing the prospect of relegation to Div 3 (I mean League 1)

Dunno how others feel, but this is one BIG club that I am really sorry to see go down (and it won't be at our expense by the look of it either) ... Only 25 years ago they were the best in Europe and I still reckon one of the greatest English club sides of all time ... and they have never been a "we are a Big club look at us" type either ... very sad

Agree there- will be sad to see them in the third tier of english football.

Don't think my derby supporting housemate would agree though especially if they get promoted as well!

Far too wrapped up in our own crisis to give a toss about any other team to be honest. No-one is too big to go down, past glories mean nothing. Forest are shit and deserve to be where there are in the table.

watford are still my dark horse for the drop...!!!!!

I'd love it if Watford went down

Another example of how the few very wealthy sides are leeching money out of the game.

There were LOADS of Forest fans in Brighton 25 years ago....where are they now? :) maybe they snuck off with all the Blackburn fans of 10 odd years ago that seemed to be all over Sussex.

Why feel sorry for them, at least they won European cups and the top league. It's teams like Brighton that I feel sorry for :p

I agree in a perfect world to see Watford, Gills and Rotherhan to go down .... and

Palace, Portsmouth and Southampton to go down from the Premier!

But the world aint perfect!

Couldn't really care less about what division they are in - it's only relegation.

They'll be back, and probably as early as next year. They made about £4m on two sold players - just half of that is a fortune in League One terms.

according to megson they are "up shir creek without a paddle!"

hardly inspires confidence does it

that's pretty much how Ronnie Fenton described it!

at least we still have confidence and the team strength to get 6 or more points and stay up!

Would be good if they stayed up, but then again, it wold be great for the League One teams having a chance to play at Forest and a great day out for the fans. I really enjoyed my visit there two years ago, but then the ticket did only cost a fiver.

Man City were down in that league a few years ago - Sheffield Wednesday now - nobody is too good to go down.

Let's face it Forest are where they are cos they overspent when Platt was there, he bought overated rubbish at hugely inflated prices - they are still paying off those debts.

Good luck to them next year though - thanks to the buggering FL deducting Wrexham 10 points, I won't get to see them.

Agree with all you say ...

and Huddersfield Town, Franchise United and Bradford City can be added to that list ... though the latter two were never quite the former BIg clubs that the others were

What a spectacular exclusive that is. Have you considered a career in journalism? :thud:

Anyway, bollocks to Forest. They've had plenty of chances to make progress in this division over the last few years, but they've employed the wrong managers who've brought in the wrong players at the wrong times. And now they're paying the price. Simple as that really.

It's no big deal though. It's not as if the club is on the verge of bankruptcy or anything like that. They'll be back, and as Simster suggested it'll probably be as early as next year.

Personally, I'll be pleased to see them drop as they have the worst stewards that I have ever encountered anywhere. The bloke who is in charge of the stewarding up there is a complete and utter twat. Looks like he'll have to spend next season telling small groups of fans from places like Chesterfield and Colchester to sit down. And good enough for him.
