TEAM NEWS

Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ruled out for the second successive game, with no time frame given for his return from a groin issue.

However, Danilo is back in contention after a broken ankle and Ibrahim Sangare has overcome a hamstring injury.

Evan Ferguson could be involved for Brighton but Pervis Estupiñán is a major doubt and six players definitely remain unavailable.

There might be a recall for Yankuba Minteh, who was left out of Albion's starting line-up last week after turning up late for the pre-match meeting.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • Brighton won 3-2 in last season's corresponding fixture – they have never beaten Nottingham Forest in consecutive away league games.
  • Forest have only won two of the past nine meetings at the City Ground, one fewer than Brighton.
Forest
  • Nottingham Forest conceded one more goal in their 5-0 defeat by Bournemouth last week then they had in their previous seven Premier League matches combined.
  • They have let in three or more goals in each of their past four league defeats.
  • Nuno Espirito Santo's side are in danger of losing back-to-back league games for only the second time, having been beaten in November by Newcastle and Arsenal.
  • Forest have won six of their eight most recent home league fixtures (D1, L1). Five of those victories were by a one-goal margin.
  • They have opened the scoring in 18 of their 23 league matches, the most in the division.
  • Espirito Santo has only used 23 players in the Premier League this season, the fewest by any club in the top flight. Forest used a league-high 33 players in each of the previous two campaigns.
  • Chris Wood has scored a career-best nine league goals against Brighton.
Albion
  • Brighton lost for the first time in seven league games last weekend, bringing to an end their longest unbeaten run in a season for three years.
  • The Seagulls could suffer consecutive league defeats for the first time this season.
  • However, they have gone six away matches unbeaten in all competitions, wining the last three.
  • Albion have scored in all 12 of their top-flight away fixtures in 2024-25, opening the scoring in a league-high 10 of them.
  • João Pedro has six goal involvements in his past eight league away appearances, scoring twice and providing four assists.
