Do you ever stop to consider what a strange chap (or woman) you are?A Sh#t place to live then, just like I said
I bet if you checked out all those arrest that happened at Notting hill this weekend for weapons many will not get away for saying that said implement was for de-stoning an avocado.
Anyone could be forgiven for thinking that you're purely here to troll (and that's awful, if so), or simply to be a pain in the arse.
That said, if you had some kind of disability, that would kinda absolve you of any blame.
If so, please mention it so it can be taken into account.

Just out of curiosity, at the end of last week I checked how many of his/her posts had contained the word "dyslexia" since he/she had been posting. 53 (yep, fifty-three) of his/her 400 or so posts had included the word, in the space of about six weeks.

Sounds lovely celebration of culture !!
The 230 arrests made on Monday including 49 for possession of an offensive weapon, 37 for assault on an emergency worker and eight sexual offences.
There were also nine arrests for possession of class A drugs and 40 for possession of class B drugs.
A man wanted for attempted murder was also spotted at the carnival and arrested.

So why do we get so many DFLs in Brighton ? I live 2 minutes walk from the South Downs and 5 minute drive from the sea. Give me that any day over living grotty London.

I consider myself very fortunate to live exactly in the city (and neighbourhood) where I want to live, and it is not London. I am sure there are many others like me.
I lived 16 of my adult years in the capital which I enjoyed and I still love going back, but I had a choice and it was not the smoke.

Next door lives a Met police officer who was called in for an hour. They had to go to the station, register their shift, go to a checkpoint and go home. Boosts official numbers of police on the day but they couldn't afford the over time to actually police the event.

Precious childhood memories of a place I lived growing up - wonderful times dating back over 50 years ago, of family members now dead . I think they probaby stopped the donkeys on Hampstead Heath in the late ‘60s
As it happens though, I much enjoyed living in Brighton when I was older compared to living in back in London or Manchester. However, both London and Brighton became too expensive for me when I became ill and I had to move to a cheaper area. I wouldn’t move back to London anyway now even if I could afford it, too noisy and crowded.
Now, I’m 10 mins from a nature reserve- 2 minutes from open fields and forest, a minute from a river - lovely area apart from it having awful infrastructure.
I do miss the eclectic, cosmopolitan and cultural diverse nature of both Brighton and London though and of course being able to get to the Amex every fortnight.

As for 'woke', apart from some Canadian PM 15 years ago who decided to use it as a call to arms, it is a term only ever used now by gammon when they are mocking the advocates of fairness, kindness and equal opportunities, and defending casual racism, sexism and homophobia.

It is a fake persona. I have had them on ignore for weeks but sadly I am still exposed to their tosh owing to the number of times people reply to it, questioning the sincerity and motivation of the person. But it is a very good point.
It is odd how some people will invoke the support of any retired policemen to bolster their argument, as if it gives it the imprimatur of God's Own Truth.
Personally I struggle to take seriously any endorsement of anything unless it is justified by data. This probably dates back to the days when Billy Wright advertised Wright's coal tar soap.
(as an aside: "Wright's soap is now said to be made in Turkey at the behest of a brand owner in Solihull, near Birmingham. The old original Wright's firm having sold out at the end of the 1960s. The active antiseptic ingredient is now the cheap and ubiquitous 'tea oil', rather than coal tar (aka liquor carbonis)."

It's about time the event was postponed for a couple of years. Absolutely disgraceful that 50 Police officers injured and 24 medical workers assaulted. What going on with the Country?
Just showing yourself up with that comment. Would be surprised if it were 50% take up.
There is a lot of wind from both sides about Notting Hill online, including 'quotes' that have been made up.
I posted this yesterday: "Notting Hill Carnival arrests as a proportion of attendance is comparable to many other large events and festivals in the UK.[109]".
(For the record I wouldn't go anywhere near the Carnival because it does not appeal to me. It seems noisy, crowded and a bit dangerous for a gentleman of my age. And while I love reggae I don't like calypso. And I live more than 50 miles away. May as well be on another planet.)
I think you have a right to demand it be cancelled ONLY if you are a local resident who finds the event insufferable, or that you are a keen Carnival attendee who feels that it has recently become conspicuously dangerous and unpleasant.
If you don't live in Notting Hill and have no interested in attending then why on earth would you post to huff and puff about it on a Brighton football forum?
