This was in last night's Sunderland Echo. Read right to the end ... the mind boggles about our dear city's reputation!

Pervert target

A WORRIED couple fear their teenage daughter could be targeted by perverts after her personal details were posted with sex messages on the internet.
Natasha Rayner's home address, mobile phone number and vital statistics were put on a dating and chat website along with explicit messages inviting men for sex.
The 16-year-old received a flood of calls to her mobile phone and a man looking for Natasha approached two of her friends late at night near her home in Thorney Close, Sunderland.
Her terrified parents Alison and John have contacted the police and are demanding to know who posted the details on the Faceparty.com site.
They say they will take legal action against the culprit and have questioned the website's security procedures.
Mrs Rayner, 35, said: "It's a sick joke that could end up going badly wrong. We could have perverts walking round the streets looking for my daughter.
"It's got me at rock bottom. She's had umpteen phone calls, including one from a man in Brighton."

Whats the betting though that when the IP address is checked it is the family PC, and that the girl did it her self.

I agree though, it's the way they've said it ".......she's had calls from all sorts of sickos, EVEN A MAN FROM BRIGHTON!!!"

lol

I think that you're reading too much into this.
Firstly they didn't say "sickos" and secondly "even from Brighton" is probably mentioned as being the furthest away that a call has come from. If it was the other way around the Brighton family would probably say "we even had a call from Sunderland" in an incredulous voice - indicating that this thing is so bad people are phoning from 300+ miles away.

Well thanks to the Sunderland Echo, the perverts no longer have to walk the streets looking for the poor girl - they can go straight to Thorney Close, Sunderland. Or they can look her up on the website so thoughtfully named by the paper.

Irresponsible reporting or WHAT? :dunce:

This is the same paper whose proud page 3 headline yesterday was "Syphilis soars among North East men"! While a page one splash last week was "Hunt for toilet pervert" which told the shock horror story of a guy caught masturbating in a public toilet! It seems the paper is 20 year behind the times or just needs to get a life!
It makes the Argus look like the Premiership.
