Just one person sits on my ignore list and I've never had anybody else on there, or even considered adding anyone else to it.

This particular poster is a moron of the highest order whose inane, idiotic stream of drivel just got too much for me one day. I put him on ignore and have never looked back.

Because I'm a MOD and I am supposed to keep an eye on what's said, I wouldn't ignore anyone.

That said, I don't think I would anyway - its easy enough to just pay little attention to the stuff - if I did use it, it would be for people whose posts are massively tedious, rather than from taking offence at anyone.
