In any case, I'm fairly confident the police haven't actually bought the thing, frankly with the budget cuts they're having to make at the moment we'll probably be driving pedal cars this time next year.

I think you can safely assume that the aquisition of this particular vehicle has come about through a local Lotus dealer seeking a bit of publicity.

It's based at Polegate Road Traffic Police and I have seen it on several occasions! Rest assured it is very much operational!
