Don’t remember Potter putting games like that out in the middle of his bad patches.
They weren't really in the middle of De Zerbi's bad patch either. Sheffield United - well, they were already on the beach (of despair). The Spurs and Palarse wins? - well, they seem like a bloody long time ago!

We got pumped at Luton.
We pumped Sheff Utd at their place.
We drew at Burnley.

4 points at the poor promoted teams is pretty miserable.

I had high hopes but low expectations today. I was half expecting a win for Burnley despite their woeful home form.
The fact that we put 10 past Sheffield United in the space of three weeks says more about them than us.

"How shit must you be..."

When the singer and guitarist of a band are ill they cancel the gig. They don't have to employ other singers and guitarists to come in and try to do their best to play the songs at the same standard. If they did, and you went to see them on that basis, I'm sure you'd probably say they weren't good enough.

We have ten players out!

Happy to look forward to next season with a full complement, hoping that we might pull off a few surpises (they will be surprises) in the last few games.

O/T - but I see you have been mentioned in Private Eye two editions in a row!

Our wage bill is 14th in the league

This could end up being our 3rd best league finish in our history

We’ve made record profit

Personally I think some of us have become more than a little bit entitled
It's not entitlement; it is simply disappointing. Yes, might be 3rd best placing but that is all due to an outstanding start. The last 26 games have produced 6 wins and 29 points. Back to CH and GP days. We don't all have to be happy clappers.

Bloom said in a rare interview in January that with all our players expected back in Feb (apart from Solly) that we'd be all good for a good 2nd half of season. No one could predict the injuries at best staying the same or worsening. We've had very few games all season with our 'normal' 1st 11 best players. I'm not surprised we've struggled and wouldn't be surprised if we don't manage a single win in our last 6 games. Restart again next season and push on.

Haven’t read all the thread and I’ll tell you why, I’ve got no issue with those that want to have a moan up but it’s not me, I’m certainly not a happy clapper I just see things differently. One of my favourite away days was about twenty five years ago when me and a couple of mates spent an evening in the West End getting pissed celebrating the days events.
We’d won 2-0 at Barnet and I met Big Deal actress Sharon Duce in the away end.
Needless to say I don’t ask much from the Albion.

Edit: I’ve just googled the results and I think we lost 2-0
I love being me 🤣🤣

Arseholes are like opinions, we all have one.
And yours stinks.

I used to be like that, but somehow the football has become one of the more important factors in enjoying going to football.

Imagine a world where narrowly not qualifying for a second season in Europe after spending most of the season in the top half of the PL on a bottom 6 budget and topping our group in our first European campaign after a catastrophic series of injuries to key players is considered ‘sad’.

We learn, we adjust, we plan, we come back better prepared next time. That’s how we roll.
Bottom 7 budget

Our model focusses on buying talent, developing it and then selling it on.
This season it hasn't catered well enough at covering the gaps in the current first team.

This is where De Zerbi's frustration has come from.

It's entirely possible that our golden era was a bit of a fluke.
For 2 season's we had the players at the right place in their development to have a strong first team in all positions.
Baleba and Buananotte weren't ready to replace Caicedo/Mac Allister .

The team are knackered and had the belief kicked out of them in Rome.

For the past 10 games, Gross and Dunk have not put in the sort of performances we have come to expect from them.

There was a period of 10 minutes after the first goal last week, when the team attempted to play at the pace that bought us glory last season.
Other than that it has been the slow and ponderous Potterball, we were accustomed to.

It doesn't work.
Without the speed and precision of pure De Zerbiball, we are a lower table team.

No blame being aimed at anyone, just a shame that a season that had promised so much, has fizzled out, earlier than I wanted it to.
Will still go to every game that loyalty points allow.

People talking about next season just like our loser manager. With a 1/6 of the season left to play. Hope some of our players dont have the loser mentality spreading like wildfire. Fine your happy with not winning another game this season. But how did we end up there. Going to Villa with suicide 442 then wasting most games against bottom teams with a bad 352. We look bad playing anything but 4231.
Rotating squad players but playing star players to death. Maybe our new players arent good enough maybe they aren´t properly coached but does that explain Veltman, Webster Dunk being shadows of what they were 18 months ago. Injuries in the training ground or after months of playing nearly ever game and Trossard Sanchez Caicedo doing everything in their power to get away.
Dahoud spectacle. Rotating goalkeepers. Talking about buying players in media raising the prices of selling clubs. Football all gone no one using sole to control the ball none bothering the passing to lock up defenses just watch yesterday with straight through balls to their defenders no one is doing what we were doing so well.
Sorry about essay just think people underestimate how bad we are and more so our current tenant manager not doing a good job taking care of the house all about the decor looking increasingly naff
