Looks like poor old Gus will have to stay with us.

Haywards Heath
Swansea is the only worry but having been turned down by them once I cant see him going there, I would think that he is too proud and they would have to beg him virtually.

Not the real one
Swansea only get 20k in the premiership, we'll beat that figure this season. Gus plans the training ground, the pitch and the whole project here at Brighton. He also will get a team with the 10th biggest season ticket holders. I don't think he had any idea about that when he started here. Can Swansea give him that?

I honestly cannot see any vacant manager's position, at the moment, which should cause us fans any sleeplessness, because Gus will not go to Birmingham for one, I will eat my hat if he moved to Swansea (smaller potentially than the Albion), and any others cropping up at the moment are rubbish compared with what he has here. The only thing which would make GP consider any of them would be if TB told him "absolutely no funds for transfers". Even if Spurs came up (?), I doubt if Levy would consider GP ready for that yet.

Remember also he is South East based with family etc., and not going to uproot for anything less than a major appointment.

BUT,remember also, even if Gus does walk at some point in the future, 'Little Old Brighton' is going to attract some pretty decent applicants to replace him so, considering where we have got to already, I ain't panicking.

Gus would be insane to go to Birmingham at the moment with their troubles, and THEY SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD the compensation.

I would be absolutely stunned, also, if Gus chose to go to Swansea now.
